Having just returned from Dubrovnik and a 3-night stay at the Sesame, I have to agree with BOTH of the reviews here (ldcurb and hellie68).
Like ldcurb, I booked our room after reading the Frommer's recommendation, and that in itself is misleading. Frommer's referred to Sesame as a small boutique hotel. It's truly four available rooms in the owner's family home, which is located just behind the restaurant Tovjerna Sesame. Misko is the owner/manager of both Sesame Inn and the restaurant/cafe/pub. He greeted us on our first day, gave us an overview of the area, and showed us to our room.
If you are not expecting a "boutique hotel", but rather a basic, clean room at a fair price just outside the Pile gate, I'd recommend the Sesame. As noted by hellie68, there is no A/C, but there is a fan in the rooms. I agree with both prior reviews about the bed - very noisy. Earplugs helped me out, but I don't think my husband and I had our most restful sleep at Sesame. There are four rooms, and we were in Room 1, so I can only comment on that one.
Breakfast IS included, which contradicts what's mentioned in Frommer's as well. It's basic (eggs or muesli). Dinner at the restaurant was excellent - very inventive menu, excellent preparation, and a 10% discount for Sesame Inn guests!
ldcurb also mentioned the keys to the rooms...this is a historic home, and it does take a few different keys to get you into the house, into the hall with the rooms, and into the room itself. The building is 200 years old, and skeleton keys and old locks helped to remind us of that. It takes a bit of jiggling, but really wasn't a big deal and gave us one more thing to laugh about.
