Description: Nautika Restaurant lies on the very edge of the sea at Pile, alongside the entrance to Dubrovnik's Old Town. From its unique terraces, diners can enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind view of the Adriatic and the fortresses of Lovrijenac and Bokar. The restaurant’s chef, Mario Bunda, leads a team whose varied offerings include lobster from the Dalmatian island of Vis and delicacies from the local waters of the Adriatic.About the cousine: The chef's role begins where that of the craftsman, Mother Nature, ends. It consists of transforming something that is beautiful, by its very essence, into something exceptional.

“Missed the mark”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Very disappointing. Food was average for high prices. I found the manager rude. We had a party of eight and we were ordering from the lunch menu. The hostess went to seat us at a premium table by the water, but the manager put us back on the patio at a less than desirable table after we were shown the better table. The kicker was that it was late in the lunch hours and there was plenty of premium tables. If there were a wait for the tables and we weren't taken back there, we might have understood the so-so table.

“Excellent and classy restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Located just outside the Old Town Walls by Pile Gate. Book in advance to be sure of a table on one of the two nice terraces overlooking the fortress and old harbour. Choose from the very reasonable 3 course Prix Fixe menu, or splash out on the very expensive a la carte....the latter really is incredible...Gourmet and very Masterchef! Service is impeccable.

“Michelin Star Prices not backed up by the food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

We enjoy fine dining and don't mind paying for quality food. Like anything though, the cost has to be proportionate to the quality.

We booked well in advance and were given a reasonable enough table upstairs. Unfortunately we got the only table at the front of the balcony which was too small for us both to have a sea view so only one of us was able to enjoy the view.

The prices at this restaurant are too high. As an indicator, apart from the soup and salad all the entrees were GBP 33 (Kuna 298) or above. The main courses start at GBP 33 (Kuna 298) and go a lot higher....

The meals are ok, but nothing special for the prices charged. The scampi risotto entree was nice enough but we've had better. The sea bass main was rather tasteless and the fish was a bit flabby. This was accompanied by sauteed leek, not the most exciting or tasty vegetable accompaniment. The lamb main was tasteless although surprisingly the broad bean and bacon accompaniment was excellent.
The desserts were average. The trio of cakes looked to be bought in and the chocolate souffle was actually a chocolate lava cake. A souffle should not have a liquid centre!

The service is good enough but we were asked how our starters were before having eaten a mouthful and were asked twice how the main courses were.

This is a slightly dated restaurant serving average food at Michelin star prices. Our advice would be to go elsewhere. There are a lot if restaurants in Dubrovnik, many with similiar sea views. For the prices charged you would expect to be inspired by the food. You won't be.

“Great location, great food, great wine. Priced accordingly!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

It was my birthday yesterday and my partner and I were in Nautika last night and had a wonderful meal in a fantastic setting. We opted for the 7 course "Master Chef" tasting menu, and every course was fresh, tasty and well presented. The wine list was extensive and will accommodate all tastes and budgets, and we were recommended the local Posip Kunjas which was inexpensive and thoroughly enjoyed. The prices are formidable but if you are in Dubrovnik for a special occasion you should indulge yourself!
