“Awful unfriendly service, average food and overpriced.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

I'm not one who likes to give bad reviews but I was extremely disappointed with this highly rated restaurant. First of all the service was very unfriendly and poor.

I like a restaurant where one waiter/waitress takes the order and serves the food and gives personal service. We had a different waiter/waitress for each course. Before our main course was served a waiter came to us and asked was this our meal not even explaining the dishes that he had !! He looked lost and very unprofessional. Our starter plates were still on the table. When we got our main course nobody came to us mid way through to ask us was everything ok. The food was very average. When we were finished our main course the plates were cleared and nobody even asked us did we want a dessert or coffee. After 30 minutes we eventually just asked for the bill and left. My wife and I had planned a romantic meal but the whole experience was terrible and ruined our evening.

On the plus side the house red was excellent and the views from the restaurant were spectacular but avoid if you want an enjoyable experience.

We ate in a few restaurants in Dubrovnik such as Mea Culpa in the old town and at our hotel(Valamar President) which were both excellent.

“Shocking”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We only went here because the newly opened La Castille Restaurant in our hotel next door had the same menu as the previous night and whilst it was fine dining and utterly superb, we decided to try somewhere new.................BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! Marinated prawns were RAW, actually raw. The crazy pasta with seafood was a mountain of uncleaned shells full of grit and unshelled shrimp over pasta covered in grilled cheese!!!!!!!!!! Best possible description is "Transport Cafe Seafood". To rub salt in the wound the bill came to 530Kune and when you compare that to the 580 from the fine dining in the brand new Hotel Royal Princess Castille restaurant of the previous night we felt completely robbed. The same Koslovic Malvasia wine which was 200 Kune in 5* La Castille was 240 Kune here. The most beautiful setting possible but staff who do not give a toss about their captive audience, shocking service and substandard rough food this is a MUST TO AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Overpriced, and terrible service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

Food wasn't anywhere near the quality for what we paid. Used plates were not cleared before next course was brought; we had to clear our table ourselves so the waitress could put the food down.

Once the food had been delivered, that was the last we saw of the waiting staff.

Overall very poor and disappointing. Avoid.

“Amazing Seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

It's a bit of a walk. And you pass a few restaurants along the way, but this was the best place we ate at. The roasted fish is amazing and I don't usually like fish, but I ate the whole thing. Amazing squid ink salad. Everything was delicious. Careful of mosquitoes if you sit outside.

“Great food, interesting menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

It is a little hard to find and get to, but well worth it. The menu is a welcome contrast to the tired repetitiveness of the old city restaurants. Prawns with honey and sage - delicious! Dubrovnik platter, of octopus, cheese and local ham - inspired! It is not cheap, but dishes are creative and perfectly executed. Had an excellent wine too (Posip). Location and service were both very acceptable too. (I mean perfect).
