“Five stars?Really?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

I was aprehensive about this hotel, after having read previous reviews here of guests having had items stolen from their room by a staff member, but the fears were unfounded and this may have been an isolated incident.
The rooms have safes, so as in any hotel, caution must be taken and nothing valuable should be left outside the safe.
The hotel is 30 minutes by foot from the town's historic centre and the walk is not nice, since it is via a busy city street and nothing pretty to see. The taxi could cost up to 70 kunas (about $15.00).
The rooms are nice with a large bathroom and they are well appointed. The rest of the premises are fairly elegant and the breakfast really vast, and actually was the most sumptuous breakfast of my entire trip through Croatia.
So far as noise is concerned, the room I stayed in faced the street, which is one of the busiest streets in Split, so even with the windows closed, one can hear the humming of the traffic noise. If that bothers you, they you'd better bring ear plugs in order to get a good night's sleep.
This was the only 5 star hotel I stayed in during my trip through Croatia and Montenegro, but I would not consider it a 5 star, specially compared to other hotels we stayed which were 3 and 4 star hotels. I would say that it is really a 4 star hotel. So, it is recommended but with these provisos.

We stayed here as part of a tour. Rooms were very clean, had a comfortable bed, was good sized, had a nice bathroom, but the room needed a new paint job. The atmosphere of this hotel was sterile and had a big box feeling. We were in Rm. 114, which had an AC that made noise but didn't cool, and the street in front of our room was a very busy, noisy street, so leaving the window open was not an option. Breakfast had great variety, but several of the "hot" dishes were lukewarm. The Atrium is about a 20-30 minute walk into old town. All in all this is not a bad hotel but is far from a 5-star establishment.

Was visiting with my mother. We were happy with the room and breakfast was a buffet that was great, they had everything from hot breakfast to cereals, fruits and pastries plus much more. The shopping centre , was practically next door, just behind the hotel which provided great shopping.
The only thing we didn't like was the hotel staff were a little misleading when we asked for a place to eat dinner. He told us of a great place that was close and inexpensive. He arranged a taxi to pick us up and we were taken to this restaurant that was expensive and not what we asked for, we believe he was getting some kickback from sending us there.
The hotel was great and I recommend it.

Stayed as part of GoAhead Tours, so hotel (and room) pre-selected for us. Very large rooms, great beds, nice bathroom (two sinks, big towels), great air conditioning, WiFi in rooms worked very well. Only complaint was that breakfast buffet served scrambled eggs, etc., but platters weren't heated, so everything cooled off quickly. Get some hot plates in there!

Hotel bar was nice looking. Only trouble was there there was usually no bartender on duty, and when there, they couldn't fix a mixed drink to save their life - order the house wine and you won't be disappointed.

About a 20 minute walk or a 50 kuner taxi ride to old city/downtown area.

This is a 5-star hotel more for business instead of a family or romanti getaway.

It was ard 30-min to the city centre. But my husband n I did find it okay coz we took the walk as post-dinner exercises.

The room was spacious and I like the bathtub and duo sinks in the bathroom.

However, I wasn't happy with the bath gel, shampoo n toothpaste. They were all made in China. The toothpaste was of v low quality. For all 5-star hotels I hv stayed at, they would offer Colgate toothpaste but not A-ME toothpaste

There was no clock showing time and no kettle for making coffee inside the room.

The services at this hotel wasnt v outstanding either - while we were checking in, I didnt expect the receptionist to keep watching at the TV which was showing live basketball game!

Pros:
* Has 5 bar internet connection in the room
* Big bathroom with 2 sinks, we love that so we do not have to wait for the other person, specially when we are in a rush to catch tours.
* Big room
* Plush towels also has robes

Stayed one night as part of a tour. Lobby has sterile feel without personality. On busy street with traffic noise in front facing rooms. 20 minute walk to old town. Shopping mall behind the hotel. The room and bath was large with double sinks but again lacked personality. Our arranged dinner was only fair but next morning's breakfast was good, but not great. The best part was the staff who took care of several little problems within minutes of our call to the front desk. They were polite and very helpful. There must be more convenient and interesting places to stay here in Split.
