“Excellent contemporary and central hotel in Split”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

My wife, 13 year old son and I stayed in Luxe for 1 night at the end of our Croatian holiday in late July 2012 (a bit delayed with our review)! We used TripAdvisor reviews to help us choose a hotel and we certainly weren’t disappointed with our choice.

The Check-In was friendly, welcoming and efficient and the staff spoke excellent English. The overall service was excellent and the staff proved helpful throughout our stay. The décor throughout this small boutique hotel is quirky and funky with some nice modern touches in the rooms (lighting and music) and free WiFi throughout. The bedroom was contemporary, very comfortable, with an excellent bathroom (you get used to the glass frontage with automated curtains) and there was plenty of space, even with an additional rollaway bed for my son.

The location of the hotel is very central with just a short walk into Diocletian's Palace, the bus station and ferry terminal. The breakfast was good quality, check out quick and efficient and the Taxi to the Airport turned up bang on time with the most entertaining and funny driver we had all trip. We booked our stay through Expedia and, for the cost and time of year, this was really excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The rooms looked just like the pictures it showed on website. Everything's nice and clean and felt new. We liked our room very much. There was no sea view from our hotel, however we enjoyed seeing the courtyard and the neighborhood from our window. It made me feel like i was staying in a friend's house and close to the local community.
The management was very good. Hotel staff was friendly and professional. Since the dining space was not very big, the selections of breakfast was not massive compared to large chain hotels, however good quality and tasty.
Location is also very good. It's not located right inside the old town but just literally 3 mins (or less) walk from it.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large with courtyard views. If you like sea view, ask for rooms on higher floor.

We loved this hotel. Reception was very helpful and tentative. They gave us great restaurant recommendations and told us about the amazing overlook (which we had not read nor heard about in our books or research). My friend's birthday occurred while we were at Hotel Luxe and they left cake in our room for her without us telling them it was her birthday! We has seaside view room with is definitely worth the extra money. Breakfast was amazing. Location is superb - a quick 5 minute walk to the Diocletian's Palace and ferry, bus, train terminals. We walked everywhere.

Room Tip: Get a seaside view room. It's worth the extra money!

I really really loved this hotel in this city which is a pearl on the Adriatic Sea.

The location is very central, in the ferry area; the rooms are perfectly equipped, super nice and with a sweet balcony.

Everything is in white&purlple, the bathroom is a glass box and you can see through, the backwall is made by iridescent stones.

Good room service, good breakfast at buffet; I really appreciated the massage I got at their SPA.

It was definitely a pity I was ther for business, I wish I can come back soon as a tourist.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at first floor.

location is perfect. city center is just 200 m far. rooms have view to the harbor. reception lady is very polite. rooms have great design. very comfortable bed. there is a radio system that puts music automatically in the early morning. i had to search for the switch that was next to the entrance in order to switch it off. breakfast is of average quality.

Room Tip: i guess all rooms face the harbour

Ok.. so when describing a place you can be subjective, objective, or both. I have to admit that, for the most part, this is a very subjective review. The decor is modern (as most point out), but definitely not what we were expecting in Split (yes, we should have checked and didn't). It is modern and purple, with plastic as the material of choice and elevator music throughout. The seaview, while officially there (a few blocks out), is not the typical sea you would expect to sea in Croatia, but rather the port of Split (with it's ferries coming and going). Finally, we had a king bed (my wife and I), but the linens they gave us were for two single beds.. ie. we literally didn't share the sheets.. strange.

On the objective front, the truth is that everything works, the audio in the rooms in unique, the spa was nice, and the staff was very helpful. The location is great though outside the old city (we would prefer inside if we were to return).

Stayed here recently in balcony rooms on 5th floor. Chose this hotel based on reviews here on TA and we werent disappointed.
Great view over the ferry port where there is always something happening. The balcony gets sun all day including spectacular sunsets.
Cool design and features like sound system (you can connect ipod to speakers in room and bathroom), as well as basement spa and sauna which we used almost every day.
Short walk to buses, ferries, riva harbour front, palace, restaurants etc.
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
This was a bit of a splurge for us, but we enjoyed staying here alot.

Room Tip: Top floor (5th) balcony rooms have best views.
