“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

Wondeful and a shame to miss. Worth the ten minute walk. The garden with his sculptures us free just to sit and relax away from the hussle of the city. Gallery is two levels great building. Very friendly staff who talked to me and him and his assistant gave me pretty much a private tour and information I was there early and do worth it. The price of 30 kuna gets you in and includes the church only 200 meters away. Beautiful wood carvings there of religious significance and view. Bonus if u bring bathing suit and go dien the stairs right across the gallery you can go swim at the jezinac beach which is also wonderful. Just go dien the alley tight across and dien the stairs.

“Wonderful scuplture and a quiet setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

I had never really heard of Mestrovic but his sculpture is incredible, so lifelike and expressive. His gallery is set out of the town in a house that was purpose built. It was so quiet it was almost as though we had a private viewing, and as we were set on the hill you could see right out to the sea. You will see some of his sculptures around Split (John the Baptist, Gregorius of Nin) but this is so much better.

“Potent art, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Definitive collection of Mestrovic's work in 1930s villa overlooking the Adriatic. The preserved living room with furniture designed by the artist is a notable draw, as is the exceptional sculpture of Job. Nice, if functional, cafe in the garden.

“Great find, don't miss out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

This museum is impressive. I loved the neo style architecture of the building and the courtyard with the sculptures. The museum's works range from the old masters to modern art by Croatian artists.
There are two floors to explore. We enjoyed the numerous pieces and variety of the artwork.
Including artwork from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and other countries.
We were surprised to see only two other people while we were at the gallery. A welcome
change from standing in long lines and peering over people's shoulders to get a glimpse of an artwork. We found this gallery while we were exploring the city. Great find for a reasonable price to
spend a couple hours with art and history.

“A must place to visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

For the people who like art and for everyone else, this place is amazing. I really enjoyed spending time with my family there. There is not really much to say, see for yourself
