“Not the best hotel in town, but certainly the best value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Amazing grounds, friendly service and great accommodations are the highlight of this hotel. We only stayed for a night on two separate occasions, but both times I felt like this was a wonderful and relaxing place. The gardens on the estate are unbelievable and the pool is just what you need to relax and enjoy your time. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better value for your money in Antigua other than possibly Earth Lodge, but that is really a different caliber of place in Antigua. This hotel has its best value when you are in a group of 5-6 people. The townhouses are perfect for small groups of people and really make this hotel the best deal in town. The only downside is that it is not really close to the center of town and tuc-tuc rides are almost a necessity if you are going to the central area of Antigua. If you are young, you can walk, but after dark... take a cab.

Room Tip: If you are in a small group, don't get separate rooms, pool your money and get the larger townho...

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in April, 2012.
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Very nice and very well maintained grounds (locals go there for communion and wedding photos). Good ambience. Room is clean, spacious and nice. Big and comfortable bed.
Hotel is walkable distance to anywhere in Antigua. Do not waste your money and your wellbeing on tuktuk's or taxis - locals drive like crazy on stone-paved streets, which results in extremely uncomfortable ride.
Do not be scared by explosions at 5 AM - there are just locals firing fireworks and celebrating one of many local festivals.
Huge garden and huge kids playground.
Nice and reasonably priced restaurant. Tasty food as well! The only thing to note is limited openning hours for the restaurant (it closes at 9PM).
Courteous staff. The hotel imposed only small penalty on us changing our reservation (shortening of our stay) at the very last minute!

This hotel in Antigua is fantastic. My only reservation in writing about it is that it will be booked up all the time. I love the floral gardens, water features, and outdoor living room with a fireplace, where I can order a margarita. The garden rooms are spacious and creatively decorated and the two level suites are great. There is a restaurant that serves decent food and is convenient for breakfast. All in all it is one of my top choices in Antigua.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are great

We spent two nights at Quinta de las Flores on a family trip, staying in one of their Casita's- really a small townhouse. It was beautifully furnished with an extremely comfortable bed. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous with extensive plantings and many paths to roam and explore. We ate 2 breakfasts which were excellent. Service was superb - absolutey no complaints

Choosing a place to stay in Antigua is very difficult if you you are going for the first time. With literally hundreds of choices at all levels, the options are truly overwhelming. When I began planning a March 2012 visit just a couple of weeks in advance, I quickly learned how difficult the decision was going to be, especially because several of my top choices did not have rooms for all of the eight nights that we were going to be there. In the end, we ended up staying at three of the top-rated places (which was actually a really nice way to experience Antigua): Quinta de las Flores, Posada del Ángel, and Hotel Cirilo. Though we really enjoyed all three for different reasons, we all felt that Quinta de las Flores was by far the best choice, especially if you are traveling with children.

First of all, there are very few places in Antigua with such beautiful and extensive grounds -- and we frankly thought that this property was more attractive, and secluded than Casa Santo Domingo -- which costs about three times as much. [IMPORTANT NOTE: unlike some other hotels in Antigua -- Santo Domingo and Posada del Angel, etc. - Quinta does not charge extra for children] In fact, the place is so beautiful, that we were tempted to spend all of our time there. The kids (9 and 6) loved the pool, and the little playground, and we all enjoyed sitting in the gardens and relaxing. The rooms are very nice (see my pics) and spacious, and each has a wood-burning fireplace that added a cozy touch, and an outdoor patio area that is great for an evening drink or a relaxing nap.

Many reviewers remark that Quinta is a bit far from the center of town, but we did not feel that this was an issue at all. In fact, we found the walk to the center of town to be very easy, enjoyable, and safe. We walked back and forth several times a day all three days that we stayed there. This is an awesome place to return to after a busy day on the town, and you will very much appreciate the fact that it is not right in the middle of everything. if you don't like to walk you can take a taxi or tuk-tuk for a couple of dollars to almost anywhere in town -- but then again, if you don't like to walk, Antigua is probably not a town that you will enjoy visiting.

The food at Quinta de las Flores's charming restaurant (for guests only) is really excellent -- and it offers very attractive dining areas inside (with fire place) and outside. We had breakfast (3), Lunch (1), and dinner (1) there, and we were very impressed with every meal. There were lots of tasty and healthy choices and there was a nice mix of typical Guatemalan dishes (delicious) with some other things like tasty pastas and mouth-wathering sandwiches (try the chicken and avocado) that will appeal to most palates. The breakfast is awesome and very well priced. It is not included in the room rate, but the rooms are such an incredible bargain that this is hardly worth mentioning. Indeed, I only do so because a couple of penny-pinching reviewers have griped about the "expensive" breakfast and the "overpriced" rooms. Don't believe a word of it.

The staff was great, especially the servers at the restaurant, and we very much enjoyed chatting with all of them. We really appreciated their willingness to check all the ingredients for our son who is allergic to nuts. They really know how to make their guests feel at home. In short, I recommend Quinta de las Flores without reservation. It is a beautiful, peaceful, safe haven in the middle of one Latin America's most beautiful and vibrant cities. I really doubt if there is a better place to stay in Antigua. At least I know that next time a go to Antigua, I won't have a hard time trying to decide where to stay.

Room Tip: As for one of the rooms with a private patio. If you will stay for a while, request one of the apar...

Every aspect of this hotel is just perfect. The gardens are really stunning, peaceful, restorative, the fountains and pool beautiful, and generally, this was an amazing place to land in Antigua. The rooms are spacious, relaxing, super-comfortable, clean and welcoming leading out into the gardens with all the amenities you would need. The restaurant was wonderful, with really delicious food, breakfasts were beautiful (easily one of the best fresh lemonades of the trip there) and the staff super-friendly and helpful. Cannot fault our stay there and would highly recommend it to anybody out there.

Stayed here for a total of 3 nights in late Feb. Wonderful grounds, lush, verdant, and immaculately maintained. Quiet, too. Nice to come back to after a day out and about. The garden rooms are a good choice!
