“Beautiful boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This hotel has beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. The rooms are around a courtyard and if you want a quiet room ask for one not on the street. Breakfast is very comprehensive and is served in the courtyard. The staff is very helpful and help you with your travel needs. The location is great for seeing all the sites of Antigua.

Room Tip: Get one off the street

Just spent three lovely nights at Hotel la Catedral, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The location is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and atmospheric, the courtyard is stunning, and the breakfasts are delicious. Marco and his staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly. I found choosing a hotel in Antigua stressful, but I was so happy where we wound up.

We found this hotel on trip advisor after our friends in Guatemala had recommended a few others. We arrived on Friday and spent the weekend before some business in Guatemala City. It is everything that you would want. We could not believe how quite and peaceful it was because we were in the center of Antigua. We walked to everything as it was so close. The staff were wonderful, very helpful with what to see and do and very attentive each night when we came back and relaxed in their beautiful garden courtyard. My wife just wanted to stay and let me go to Guatemala City alone. We are looking forward to a return trip in the future.

My first Hotel in Antigua!
Nice hotel even if the room was very small and difficult to move around with case and bags ( room n.1).
The room was looking on the court, simply beautiful with flowers, coach, plants and more! Receptionist and waiteress were very nice, friendly and professional! Nice please to stay, at only 100 metres from Parque central!
Breakfast with a choice among continental, local, american breakfast and more!!!
Only one problem...little bit humid..........

This was my third trip to Antigua. While I loved the places I had previously stayed, I thought I would try another hotel. I went with a friend. We loved it. The room was a tad small but we had two full sized beds. The courtyard garden is lovely. You have a nice choice of options for breakfast and can eat whenever you'd like. Best of all, the hotel is very centrally located, about a block from the central plaza.

My husband and I own a hotel on Lago Atitlan, but like to go to Antigua for a night on the town. We thought we would try a new boutique hotel - and LOVED IT! The rooms are gorgeous, the king size beds are so comfortable, and the courtyard is stunning. We were greated with a complimentary beverage, and had a very enjoyable breakfast in the garden when we woke up. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this hotel to those looking for a beautiful escape, just a hop away from all the action.

The location and amenities this hotel offers are wonderful. Just one block off the central plaza, close to all the wonderful sites the city of Antigua has to offer. The rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The bed in our room was huge (Room #2) with wonderful sheets and pillows. The bathroom was extremely clean with a large mirror and plenty of space. We had some trouble with water pressure but the hotel showed great concern and fixed the problem promptly. Breakfasts were wonderful and eating under the covered patio each morning was a treat. Make sure to visit the VIP Lounge (adjacent to the courtyard) for one of the smoothest margarita you'll ever taste or a cold Gallo . . . a wonderful way to end your day of exploring Antigua.

Room Tip: Room #2 had a very large, comfortable bed, however, if you need a lot of walking space you might cho...
