“Loved it”

Went with two friends for two days. It was great and reasonable. My friends were very pleased also. If I ever get back, that is where I want to stay again. Great location, safe and beautiful garden. As advertised.

Spent 2 fabulous weeks in Antigua at this friendly, clean, reasonably-priced, colonial style hotel. 3 patio areas filled with lush greenery, flowers and frequent hummingbirds are glorious places to rest and recoop.Rooms vary greatly in size, from small and cozy to huge with high ceilings. All with cable TV. Prices vary as well depending on occupancy. The ENTIRE staff made me feel like family, from the lovely ladies at reception to the night-time doorman..who locks main door at night to all but hotel guests (felt totally safe alone), Yummy breakfast available, as is free coffee 24 hours/day. Lots of services available: bag storage, laundry, free wifi and computer in lobby area. Great location and value just 2 locks from main plaza...felt totally comfortable walking alone at night. Will definitely be back. Gracias to all the hotel staff!

Room Tip: Rooms toward front of hotel might be nosier. Back patio areas quiet. Room 19 small with overhead fan...

This is such a nice change from generic US hotel chains. This hotel was chosen for us by a local from Antigua. This was a clean, affordable hotel in a central location with a charming inner courtyard.
We were a larger group staying in Antigua for the night before flying out of Guatemala City the next day. As such, we occupied a number of rooms which varied in size. We had Room 20 on the upper level, accessed by stairs with 2 double beds and a single, with a small balcony. It was light, airy and very pleasant. Many of the rooms on the lower level were smaller and darker, some with just 1 double bed, but perfectly adequate if you are not planning on spending a lot of time in your room.
The breakfast in the morning was excellent - with several hot dishes, juice, cereal and fruit.
We did not experience any noise issues.
They can also arrange shuttles to surrounding areas and tours. We are planning to return next year and extend our stay and use their tour services.

Room Tip: If you wish to have a larger, lighter room, request an upper level room

I've stayed in many hotels in Antigua over the last 10 years, and I really dislike this one. It is a mid-range hotel, not a budget hotel. In Antigua this means you should get at least nice linens and towels, higher quality complimentary toilet items, and better service. However, here the quality is similar to what you would get at a hotel half the price with a bit of looking. The courtyard and plants are really lovely, but the same attention to detail does not extend to the rooms. Noise levels, especially on the weekends, are absolutely unbearable. Overall, at this hotel you get the feeling that corners are being cut and that you are getting less then you are paying for. There are several other hotels in town in the same price range where the reverse is true.

I am not sure which hotel this reviewer was at, and if you read the other 150 excellent reviews for Hotel Casa Antigua, here on Trip Advisor, you will probably get the same feeling.

Hotel Casa Antigua is a budget to mid-range hotel, with double rooms from $55 to $65. In Antigua, you can find hostel rooms very cheap (if that is what you want) or you can find hotel rooms from $40 to over $500. I would say this puts us more near the budget option, and here at Hotel Casa Antigua, we give you a very good value for your money.

I found this hotel online and was extremely pleased with my choice to stay here. It is near everything and the common spaces of the hotel were comfortable and beautiful. I was here 4 nights and had the best hot showers of any place I've ever stayed in Guatemala. If you are in Antigua I definitely recommend this place!

Excellent location and great price. Being near the central square, but not actually on the same block made it convenient and cheap.
Stayed for 2 nights and found this hotel close to relevant sites with friendly and available staff. Very comfortable and a hilight of the trip.
