Ihad really high hopes from the resort but it wasnt as great as I expected to be. Resort as a whole was great but there private beach was kind of disappointinng and so was the water park within the resort as they market it.
The resturants within the resort were good though.
rooms were not as great.

Thank you for posting your review on our tripadvisor page. We're sorry to hear that your stay wasn't as expected. If you're able to, we invite you to provide a little more detail on how we could have improved your stay as we pass along all feedback to our management team. You also mention that we market our Indoor Water Playground as a water park. We really make sure we use the term Indoor Water Playground as we do not have a water park. If you can point out where you saw this property featured being marketed as a water park, we can address as needed. Thank you again for your feedback!

The hotel has two parts the Hotel rooms and the Tower rooms. In the past I have stayed in the Tower rooms. This time being budget conscious I booked a hotel room. The rooms are okay but need to be refreshed, The bathrooms are very small with low ceilings. They charge a $14.50 per night resort fee which includes use of pool and fitness center etc, which we did not plan to use, and did not use. But it also includes internet access, this only allows on one user at a time in the room so for a two IPad couple we had to take turns accessing the internet. I expect more for $14.50 per night. The popcorn in the lobby sports bar is $1.00 per bag, really popcorn should be free. The Starbucks in the lobby prices are almost double of Starbucks outside of the hotel. So not great value for the money. However the view in incredible and as they say about Traverse City you pay for the view of the Bay.

Room Tip: Book a room in the Tower

My buddy and I crossed Lake Michigan on the Lake Express car ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon and then rode our bikes from Muskegon to the resort. As usual the place had everything we wanted. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the beds and pillows were great and we had a good nights quiet rest in room 304. The grounds are well kept and the outdoor pool and hot tub are great but closes too early at 8PM. The indoor pool and hot tub are good as well but closes at 11PM. What they need to do is close the indoor pool at 9PM and keep the outdoor pool open till midnight like most resorts do in the middle of summer and switch the times around. It makes no sense the outdoor pool closing before the indoor pool? The indoor pool had a nice kids play area as well and I think a water slide too. We had a good dinner at the restaurant on top the hotel and there is also a sports bar and Starbucks as well as a bunch of other shops. There is no doubt this is the best place to stay in TC but again it depends on what you are looking for. This report is not on the bay and has no beach or lake access so if that's what you are looking for you best find a beach report in town on the water. The rooms are pricey at $270.00 per night but what are you going to do? If you want this kind of resort and service you have to pay for it. Keep your expectations reasonable. This is not a Four Seasons but one of only two resorts I know of in northern Michigan offering these amenities and service with the other one being the Inn At Bat Harbor in Petoskey. All in all I'm very happy here. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. I hear the spa is decent but have not tried it. The resort is biker friendly and riding from the resort to Old Mission Point is a real treat. Check in was smooth and easy and staff is very helpful and accommodating. I would tell anyone to stay here if they don't mind spending the money.

Room Tip: Our room was not in the town and it was very quiet with NO noise.

We stayed at this property as it was the host hotel this year for the annual Porsche Parade event. We had a lovely king size corner room with a balcony in the tower of the complex. The tower looks like a grain elevator, and it appears only the corner rooms have the balconies. Although our room was only on the 6th floor, we did have nice views of Lake Michigan and the golf courses. The bathroom was huge, with a seperate jetted tub and shower. The shower was pretty small, but fine for us. Having a large window spanning the length of the bathroom, gave it good lighting. There was a bar area in the room, with a small sink and a fridge. There were 2 nice armchairs and a footstool which was great. The room we had also had access to 2 other adjoining rooms. There were times when we could hear people talking quite clearly. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it would be if there were noisy children/adults.
We had several banquet meals at the property, and thought they were all great. Every course was delicious and well presented. There were alot of wait staff, and the service was good. We found all the staff at the resort, including the front desk and cleaners to be very pleasant.
One item they should have is a safe in the room. They did have safety deposit boxes available, but not many.
As this is a resort, they do charge a "resort fee". We have noticed more properties similar to this are adding on this charge. It is annoying, and they should just include it in the price of the room up front. The hotel had a nice looking pool, which we did not have a chance to use. They also have 3 golf courses on the property. They do have a nice selection of shops in the hotel. The hotel offers many amenities ie spa, tennis courts, golf course, gym that we did not use. We would stay here again and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Room 659 was very large with a balcony!

Very nice luxurious hotel, there was flaking paint on the walls one stain on the carpet, stain on the wall and the comforter was gross.
Great customer service. Good deal. Didn't use the spa but everything looks beautiful. Bars closed at 11 pm.

We stayed on the 5th floor of the hotel. Was so loud every time the A/C went off in our room or the floor above us. Sounded like a herd of elephants in the room above us.
The door barely opened to the room, which was kind of a pain.
The bathroom was gross. Lots of mold in the grout in the tub. The tub mat also had mold.
The indoor pool area was great - kids had fun. Restaurants were good. Shops were cute.
The grounds are beautiful, but would not stay in the hotel again. For $175+ per night, could do better. Have stayed in the Tower before and loved it. Unless you have the $ to do that, pass.
