Staff was very helpful and friendly. We celebrated our 49 aniversary there and had a wonderfull dinner, the chef came out to talk to us about our selections. It may seem a little pricy but it is well prepared and is really special. Check in and out was a breeze and no hidden charges. If you are looking for something on the top end this is it.

Room Tip: Get the buy two get one free with a dinner and bk.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and spa over Memorial Weekend. I could not believe how friendly and professional EVERY SINGLE staff member was who I came in contact with. The real deal when it comes to customer service and expertise. We were blown away. While the weather didn't cooperate on Saturday, we were given many different recommendations of things to do (wineries were great!) and they weren't upselling either! (That made us want to do more in the hotel). Pure class act on all counts. My thanks to all hotel staff. Guests are appreciated and well taken care of. Thank you! We'll be back!

Was in Traverse City for the Bayshore 1/2 Marathon and stayed the weekend at the hotel. Everything was perfect from checkin to checkout. I have to admit my favorite part was the adult only hot tub after the race and then the comforable bed for a much needed nap :) Everyone was very friendly and made you feel welcome . We will stay again when in the area :)

my wife and i decided to take a trip to Traverse City before the season gets under way and we made reservations at another hotel whom i will not name becuase they did not meet our standards and we saw the big tower and thought we would check it out. Well we are glad that we did. We were able to get a great value on a hotel room and we had an amazing meal in the restaurant located on the top floor of the tower. Prices were steep however well worth the experience. Our server Jillian was terrific. I would request that you had dancing available upstairs in your beautiful dining room and that there was a late menu available to us. My wife was a bit under the weather and when we called down to the desk, they responded quickly and made us feel like a real guest. The next day we used the concierge and found the lady Reann most helpful. The added touch was a doorman who was always there to open the door for usand the shuttle to and from the casino - oh yeah - ok - we felt pampered. the weather was not cooperative so I was not able to golf however we will definitely be back to golf and have another great dinner in Aerie. Wow - we wil l always stay here whenever we are in northern michigan.

Room Tip: talk to the front desk - so helpful

I booked this trip last minute with a friend. We wanted something somewhat close for our last minute spring break trip. We stayed 3 nights in the Golfview condos. It was incredible! Before we left I checked trip advisor for photos of the condo and did not find any so I was sure to take and post pics. We booked the "body & soul" off season special which included 2 night stay, 2 breakfasts, and 2 spa treatments per person. We paid a small fee to upgrade to the condo ($30) and also took advantage of the stay 2 nights, get 1 free special. In the end, we paid $350 each ($700) total. Not too shabby if you ask me. We both got the cherry honey glow treatment which was INCREDIBLE! Highly reccomended for anyone ! We both also got the wrap...didn't live up to the cherry glow, but still amazing. The staff was awesome. Very professional. We stayed in the Golfview condos so you did need to drive to the main resort if you wanted to take advantage of those accommodations, but the shuttle was very timely! Each time we called them to pick us up it only took 2 or 3 minutes for them to arrive. The condo was beautiful with a very peaceful view of the course. We did; however; stay from Wednesday - Saturday and by the time we left on Saturday the condos were really starting to fill up. We were the only car there until Saturday. We did the local pub crawl for St. Pattys day and had a blast. Definitely hit up Front St. If you like the bar scene! This was the perfect mini- vacations for two 20 somethings looking for some quality girl time and to get away from it all!

My sister-in-law and I have been coming to Grand Traverse Resort & Spa for the last 4 years. The first year we were there, we met Norm from the Lobby Bar. He gave many suggestions on where to go, how to get there, specialties each place offered, etc. His help made it SO much easier for us to venture out. After our first year there, we couldn't wait to come back the 2nd year to see Norm! He was definitely one of the main reasons that we stayed at that specific location. For anyone who has ever stopped at the Lobby Bar, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Our 3rd trip there was obviously a fun time. We had become more familiar w/the City and w/Norm's help, we were able to find other locations and sites to see.

Last trip (March 2011) - - As far as service goes - front desk was nice. Dinner @ Aerie was nice. We did not have spa services. And our complimentary breakfast at the Sweet Water Bistro was not good. They didn't offer the buffett and the coffee was stale and tasted like it was burnt. For two coffee lovers, it's a bad sign when we can't even finish one cup of coffee when normally we drink the entire carafe of coffee there.

We arrived to the resort on a Fri. We checked in and scurried down to the lobby bar to say hello to Norm before we headed to Aerie for dinner. To our great displeasure, Norm informed us that the next day was his last day working at the Resort!

It will definitely NOT be the same w/o Norm and to be completely honest, we our now open to stay at other locations since he was a BIG part staying at the resort.

He was always pleasurable, knowledgable, beyond friendly and never once made us feel uncomfortable.

The Resort has definitely lost a great employee and we will definitely miss him.

The housekeeping is terrible, the decors are equivalent to a Days Inn and the prices are a little too high for that kind of experience. I will say that the front desk and concierge were great. PS. Pets are allowed, but cannot stay in your room.
