“An island tradition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

Great breakfasts and lunches; donuts to die for. Very reasonably priced. Very busy, with a jam-packed, small parking lot. Park across the street at the Stop & Shop.

“Makes Everyone Feel Like a Local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Our family of 4 visited Downyflake at noon on a weekday, and other than waiting to land a parking space in the lot, we were able to be seated immediately at the counter. The waitress patiently described several of the Portuguese dishes in response to our questions, and talked up the chocolate donuts, which turned out to be very tasty. Half of us were able to order breakfast and the other half lunch - breakfast is served until closing time at 2 p.m. We were quite happy with the food, the price and the positive interaction with our server - as if we had grown up together on this wonderful island!

“A great truck stop--you don't even need a truck...locals, locals,locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

The Nantucket scramble with Portugese sausage is great. they take the muffins and cut them in two and toast them. Great value, homey help, good place to meet locals, and no atmosphere. Good for kids, but not all that noisy. During rush hours, you may have to wait, but it's worth it

“Great locals place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

My fiance and I went here and had a great breakfast. She had eggs over easy and I had an omlette. We both got donuts. Donuts come as plain, sugar and chocolate dipped. Three kinds only, which is awesome in the world of over doing things in which we live. Just good food, good prices and very very nice staff. It's a few miles outside the harbor area, also nice.

“down home friendly!”

Like walking back in time. Real Mayberry feel which is a bad thing!
Simple, good, friendly. What more can you ask. Its where the locals hang out for breakfast and coffee.
