We had dinner at Le Languedoc on Thursday evening before Memorial Day. One thing that attracted us was that restaurants on Nantucket come and go, but this one has been in operation for decades. We ate downstairs, which is the less formal of the two levels and is very comfortable. Service was excellent and friendly, with no hint of the attitude one can encounter at other high-end establishments on the island. Also, an owner, Alan, was on duty, as I gather is his custom, making sure everyone was having an enjoyable evening. In our case, he and the waitress were extremely helpful in dealing with Suzanne's garlic allergy, and she had plenty of menu options, which is often not the case. Finally, when we arrived at the time of our reservation Alan seated us immediately at a nice, quiet table. In our experience, that's rare, particularly at popular restaurants.
