I really do not like to be a person who gives negative reviews so normally I would not say anything however, I feel compelled to let others know. That being said there are a few positives to mention: The staff at check in was professional and friendly. Also the girls in housekeeping are very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was nice with bagels, pastries, cereal, coffee and juice and very nicely attended to by the staff.
The bed and linens are extremely old and the mattress is horrible. I did leave a note for the bed to be laundered as the bed spread, blanket and sheets did not seem clean and this was done for us. The bathrooms are very, very old and show severe wear and tear on the shower, walls, door, severe cracks…etc…. The room itself is very stuffy and does have a bit of a musty smell but thankfully you can open a window since the air conditioner does not work right. It runs all the time and never seems to climate the room. Half of the TV channels have no sound and the power button does not work properly. I could go on and on …. NO, I did not report all of this to the front desk. I feel that all of these things should have been fixed or upgraded years ago. I realize this is Nantucket and the rates are much different here. I would have stayed elsewhere but there was not much to choose from. My mistake was not booking this trip with more advance notice because yes, I would have paid more to stay elsewhere and that it what I suggest to others unless there are significant upgrades made.

JT907., Your review is most troubling to me, as many of the things that you state are just not true. We have spent significant money in the past year to improve on many areas..and will continue to do so until all areas are addressed and improved. One , in particular, is that.we have purchased all new sheets, and bedding for each room., as well as all new wooden blinds, chairs, lamps and area rugs. The TV's in all rooms have built in DVD players and extensive cable channels...We check TV's on a daily basis to make sure all are in working order. I know that you mentioned that you did not report any of your issues with the front desk., but, without knowing that you were having a problem., there is no way to address the issues or move you to another area of the hotel. We constantly replace air conditioners with new ones, and certainly would have done the same with you if we had known you were having any issues. Yes., this is Nantucket and although rates are higher on this island., it does not mean that anyone should pay higher rates for dissatisfaction at any level. I would be glad to discuss this with you and show you the upgrades that are happening, if you would contact me through the front desk. Going forward., I truly suggest that no matter which hotel or property that you stay at, you should always let the staff, front desk or owner know of ANY issues you have while you are there so that they have an opportunity to correct the issues immediately and make you as comfortable and happy during your stay.
