“Great Location...Interesting Guestbook!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2009

We stayed at the Whaler for three nights in the summer. We arrived and were greeted by the owner who was very helpful, and helped us by storing our luggage early before the previous guests had moved out.
The location was excellent, just off the main street, very close to all the amenties such as bike rentals, restaurants, sea front etc.
The building was beautiful. We stayed in the penthouse that slept four. The entrance round the back was lovely with well kept gardens and places to lock up your rented bikes.
The accomodation itself was tasteful, but for the price really needed a refurb it was rather tired and out-dated. Especially the bathroom, the shower tray was rather grubby!
Then we went to look in the Visitors book which took prime place in the sitting room. Lots of pages had been torn out, and hardly any reviews had remained in the book!! Also, in the front the owner had written a welcoming message, and many exceptional reviews written were in this handwriting throughout the book....it was so obvious that the owner was writing reviews we found it rather hillarious!! We wrote a very nice honest review in the book, and it would be interesting to know if it was of an acceptable standard to remain in there!!!
Best restaurant on the island had to be Queequegs, book though so you get prime position outside, the meal was the best of our two week stay in the States. We also went to Black eyed Susans which had raving reviews, but it was no were near as good as Queequegs.
Definately try to fit in the Whaling Museam, absolutely fantastic with the best views from the looking tower on the whole island.
Also cycling is definately the best way of seeing the Island.
If you want a family laugh, suitable for all ages go on Bills Ghost Tours, it was whacky but so worth it.

My family and I discovered the Nantucket Whaler many years ago, and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on the Island. The Whaler is in town, but located on lovely, quiet North Water Street (with good parking - a real bonus.). We love being steps away from everything - dining, shopping, museums. The accommodations are just great - charming, very cozy and comfortable and spacious. Big fluffy bathrobes, soft sheets, and DVD and audioi players in every room. We especially like sitting on one of the decks and watching the world stroll by. And the lovely, lush garden is perfect for cocktail hour - or snoozing in the afternoon sun. Calliope and Randi are warm and gracious innkeepers who want their guests to be comfortable and happy. I give the Nantucket Whaler 5 stars!

We stayed for a week in July, and we were so happy with our stay. I was concerned about staying in a B&B, but it felt more like a hotel. We had our own entrances to our room, so there was a great amount of privacy. It was also very quiet and intimate. The location is also wonderful. It's located in Old Nantucket, so you can walk to all the restaurants, shopping, and a great beach. We stayed in Suite 7, and while it was one of the more inexpensive rooms, it had all the amenities and was a great size. We would definitely stay here again; the only reason we wouldn't is if we decided to rent a house on the island. You'll love your stay here!!!

My husband and I go to Nantucket every year. We will always stay at the Nantucker Whaler Guest House. It is close to town, always clean and very quaint, and our own entrance. We are always greeted with a smile. I have to say I just love the furniture and linens too. It's rare that you find a place were you love everything!!!

I just returned from a week-end in Nantucket. This was partly business and the trip was organized by my company. This "Guest House" is run by 2 wonderful Ladies who know their business and make sure nothing is missing in the suites. When I first arrived, I found it odd that there was no one at the small desk, up the stairs of one of the houses that was part of the group of houses. However a phone number and phone was availble to connect to a "human" who showed up almost immediatly. She had a smile on her face and greeted me warmly. I have stayed in many luxurious hotels in the world and I must say that some of the details were simply what made the stay more pleasant and that you rarely find in hotels.
- For the TV/DVD remote control instructions: a small frame in front of the TV to simply indicate the use of remotes without having to consult a 10 pages instructions !
- For the person who forget his/her reading glasses or left them in the salon and does not want to get out of bed: a brand new pair of reading glasses in a reading glass holder on the bedside table.
- A small Sony bedroom radio with actually a great sound quality
- A kitchinette with the complete needs to prepare, reheat, open, make coffee/tea and an ironing board+iron in the closet
- A House Made Concierge Book with all the right needed phone numbers, directions and spots not to miss with an Island trivia that resumed perfectly the history of Nantucket.
- Internet access and the list of the phone numebrs to call to reach your friends satying in other suites of the Guest House.
And a very quaint garden, "home made" where you could relax in peace, listening to the birds.
I recommend this place for your next stay in Nantucket, Gerard Riveron

Nantucket Whaler is an adorable guest house just blocks from town. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated, quaint, and cozy. We loved the garden area, which is filled with beautiful flowers. Aveda products in the bathroom, fresh beach towels daily, lovely linens and soft sheets. A great deal of care was obviously taken into choosing every piece of furniture and all of the decorations. We would definitely come back. Apparently each room is different and we are looking forward to trying a different room each time we return. Definitely a great find and a reasonable summer rate for the island.

Love the Nantucket Whaler! Its perfect, not one detail is overlooked. We had a beautiful suite with a porch, it was lovely. The rooms are very very clean, and spacious. I have stayed in many many places in Nantucket over the years, and I must say, this is my favorite place. I keep returning because it is soo wonderful. The Inn is adorable. I absolutely LOVE IT!!! And, the location is ideal.
