“On of the better beaches on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Surfside is close to perfect. Bathrooms, food stand in season and lifeguards. At low tide beach drops off gently making for good body surfing.

“Perfect family beach spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We loved Surfside beach, there was a great food shack, outdoor showers and restrooms which is so helpful when you have kids. The waves were good, but not too much. Get there early to get a parking spot. Also it is FREE parking which is excellent!

“Great Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

All the beaches on Nantucket are great. You should visit them all. Each one has its uniqueness. Surfside Beach is a traditional beach lovers destination, it's huge so you can clump up with friends or spread out far away from anyone. There is a food shack, always important, and it can be reached by the local bus. Many people ride the bike (rentals available) and then at the end of the day take the bus back - there are racks for bikes on the front of the buses.

“Nice beach "WATCH OUT" for rip tides!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Overall I think this is one of the best beaches on Nantucket. It's easy to get to, by bus, bike, or car. You can even catch a few waves on a good day. The tides can be a little unpredictable, I was washed out in a rip tide, but I was trying to surf where there was no one else around. Swimmers beware, stay around other people is my advice.

“Jenny's beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Was the only beach we went to. The tide was out so it was great to be able to walk out quite away. Tons of shells!!
