“Go for drinks and apps -- tapas style.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

The appetizers, in particular the fried avocados, are fantastic and a bit different than what you find at your typical Mexican joint. Drinks are also a great value (mojitos are super).

However, the entrees left something to be desired. Some awkward flavor combinations, some dishes with lack of flavor, and the price is fairly expensive for what you get. I'd much rather go to some place like Anna's Taqueria. I know it's a different experience, but Anna's is a far better value and better taste.

I'd come back to this place to grab apps and drinks and kind of eat tapas style. However, I feel most US restaurants try to rush you and don't let you order 1 app at a time and then just leave after 2 or 3 apps so you can eat somewhere else. They try to keep you there...and Acitron definitely seemed ready to rush us to order more...even though NO ONE was in the restaurant.

Friendly service none the less, in particular one of the girls there. The guys were the ones that were kind of pushy/rushing.

“A Delicious, Leisurely Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Dinner was delicious and the staff friendly and courteous. The prices were reasonable and I very much enjoyed myself. It was definitely not a fast food restaurant, which to me is very much a good thing.

Service was neither particularly fast nor particularly slow by our standards. However, I think an impatient person or people who get upset if they have to stop eating and talk for a few minutes might not have been happy.

Our party of four had a reservation and were seated immediately on a Friday evening. Some couples arrived while we were there and had to wait a while for a table to open up.

If you would like a delicious, leisurely dinner and time to relax with friends, Acitrón Cocina Mexicana in Arlington, MA is a great little restaurant.

“Finally - some great Mexican food near Boston!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

We went here on a busy Saturday night with no reservations, but the waitstaff was still able to seat us at the bar for dinner. Had the Chili Verde a la Baaba and Carne Asada - both prepared perfectly. Chips and salsa were great (the aguacate frito appetizer looked amazing!) The bartender was professional and friendly, definitely made us feel welcome and talked to us about the different menu options. The overall vibe was friendly and hip - all waitstaff seemed happy to be there! Nice change of pace and wonderful to have authentic Mexican cuisine. Can't wait for our next meal there!

“Great Mexican Food has arrived in Arlington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

Our meal was outstanding. The appetizers were incredible and I'm still enjoying the memory of their avacado jalapeno appetizer. We enjoyed everything about our visit. It was also very busy so a reservation is a must.

“Delicious and authentic Mexican!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

The food at Acitron was fantastic. Be sure to try the guacamole and chips before your entree. Our group ordered fish tacos, salmon and chicken enchiladas and all were delicious. Be sure to make a reservation on a weekend and ask for tables near the window. Tables toward middle and back of the room are quite close together.
