“Great service, updated lobby, modern restaurant: A good choice for family reunions/business travels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Stayed this past weekend for a wedding and was happy with the property. They apparently had 3 weddings going on at the same time, but you didn't notice it at all. The hotel is rather big when you really start walking around.

The location is within an executive area, so there isn't anything within walking distance. Right off 495, although you will loop around a bit to get to the hotel. There are 2 restaurants/bars on site, and they service room service from 11:30-11pm. They did have a volleyball net set up as well as an indoor pool and 24 hour fitness area.

On the Bone: We had breakfast included with our rate and had it here every morning. Breakfast (Buffet style) was a tad pricey ala carte ($35 for 2) but was actually pretty good. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, yogurt, cereals, steel cut oatmeal, bagels and pastries and made to order omelettes and waffles. Had a few drinks here as well, and service was very good and drinks were well made. The menu looked like it had some good dinner options on it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful: giving tips and recommendations for different services throughout our stay.

Can't speak on housekeeping, since we were in the room at the time they were coming around and just recieved new towels (not a big deal). They seemed friendly however. Room, sheets were clean.

The only complaints I have are the air/heating: I spoke to multiple people who had issues with their thermostat- either being too hot or too cold. I remember playing with it often, as it would get too cold or too hot more often than it should. Also there would be a weird smell we would notice when walking into the room. Also our balcony view was of tree branches and seemed to be more of a smoking deck. There was also a coors light can left out there from previous guests.

All in all, not a bad property. Good for large venues: family reunions, business travels, etc. About 15 minute drive to Andover. Not sure if I would recommed for family vacations/sightseeing..far from quite a bit and geared for more adult crowd.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony, if only for the air flow! Otherwise you'll be stuck with a window vie...

A lot of Wyndham hotels are like this. Old Crowne Plazas that went through a week renovation. Window banger air conditioning. My room was damp the whole three nights. I would say the hotel restaurant was ok. A little expensive, but not bad.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Crisp New England snow is lovely to see - especially from our ballroom foyer. We think the change of seasons here is pretty spectacular. But it's great that even when there is six inches of snow on the ground, you can still enjoy our indoor pool and hot tub. For those who can't stand to miss even a single workout, we have a recently renovated Gym & Fitness Center, with individual monitors and great views. If you can't seem to find enough hours in the day to finish work, head to our 24-hour Business Center. When you're finally ready to relax, head to one of our over-sized hotel rooms; many even boast private outside space. Our Grab-and-Go Market is the perfect place to pick up a sandwich, salad or a much-needed aspirin. But if dining by candlelight is what would hit the spot, stop by our On the Bone Steakhouse. And for something tall and cold, check out our Characters Sports Bar or the Lobby Bar. Naturally, room service is an option almost anytime. Those planning a professional gathering or stylish wedding will be sure to appreciate our customize-able event space, with a grand ballroom and outdoor gazebo. Not only does our property have everything you need for leisure or business, Andover has a cornucopia of things to do, right near the hotel. Historic Lexington and Concord are the home of the first battles for our country's independence, and they're just a short drive away, as is magical Salem, Massachusetts. For those who'd like to get their hearts racing, Canobie Lake Park with roller coasters and log flume is a great choice. Or for a different kind of adrenaline rush, try some tax-free shopping at Rockingham Mall. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring Lowell National Park. And kids of all ages will love to see all the creatures at Zoo New England. We are conveniently located between Boston Logan international Airport and the Manchester Airport, which are both less than 30 miles away. ... more   less
