Nice room with air-condition and confortbale bed, tea& Coffee making facilities. Excellent food and service. Close to town settlement. Improvments and renovations are happening. Big pool with sparkling water. Great service at reception.

What ever you do, try your best to stay somewhere else than the Christmas Island Resort. It is no resort, the rooms are filthy and smells of mould, and dead insects, there are lots of live insects inside the rooms, the staff are un-helpful and will not help you out under any circumstances (I asked to borrow a bowl and spoon and was told they dont allow that in the rooms), and there is no maintenance. It is a really sad place that has now become a domitory for the security personnel for the Immigration Detention Center. All the funds made by the resort by Australian government workers is obviously not going back into the resort or the community which is really sad given what is going on over there.

The resort (if that's what you can call it) is run-down. Staff with limited English on the front desk, unable to charge meals to your room, bull ants in the iron, no on site manager. Meals average and the price of $285.00 per night is definitely far too much.

The good:
- The restaurant does good breakfast and dinners
The bad:
- 6kms from The Settlement so a hire car is mandatory
- Pool was only open one day of the seven we visited
- Staff with very limited English
The downright ugly:
- Rooms were dirty
- Sheets did not cover the mattress
- Blanket was stained and too small for the bed
- Hole in the wall of my room
- Mould on the walls
- No tiles behind the toilet
- $285 a night is an absolute rip-off
Until the owner renovated this property completely do not stay there. Do not believe the photos on their website as the rooms are nothing like it.
