“Still love it after visiting again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

The museum is smallish but there's usually plenty to do. The museum changes its exhibits often, there's a large library of children's books, and a first class arts center with different projects on most days. The membership is reasonable and would pay for itself if you plan on visiting again. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

“Small, just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

The interior space is light, open and airy, which made the shows on exhibit seem even smaller. Very little was on display and it seems that it was designed to be that way. The only up side is that it's not far from Atkins Farm!

“Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Charming exhibits -- Eric Carle's work plus a special one on Ezra Jack Keats ("The Snowy Day" children's author). Well-displayed w/ fascinating bio. stuff & examples of how they worked & how it was received & who influenced them & who they influenced. Great gift shop, children's programming & art studio, special films, and a huge children's book library. Free parking, & reasonable entrance fee (discount for students). Don't miss it if you love children's books!

“An amazing space and collection!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is, for me, a place of pure peace and serene pleasure. I have been visiting since it opened and have never, ever been disappointed with what I've found. The exhibits are fantastic and easily take me not only back to my childhood, but beyond that to the world of the creators. The paintings/prints/collages, etc. are beyond beautiful when seen up close in their original form. And the galleries are spectacular places in which to view them. The children's art space always offers something fun for our daughter, and the bookshop is excellent. We've seen concerts and puppet shows here as well - and they've always been great. Age appropriate, artists who really know something about children and how to tell a tale or make some music that stirs them up from their seats and mesmerizes them. If you haven't been there, and even if you have, it's well worth a visit.

“Lovely Museum for Kids (and adults)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

A nice side trip w/ lovely original art from one of our children's favorite author/artists. Plenty of art, color, and history about Carle and his influences.
