“We'll be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We were in town with some friends to attend a funeral. . I booked this hotel because of it's location and because we feel we can count on a good Marriott. We loved the location as it is within walking distance of shops and restaurants.. It is a little pricey but the location is great. The only detriment was having to pay for parking. This is an older hotel with lots of charm. If you are looking for a new hotel this isn't for you, but if you like charm then this hotel will surely fill your needs. We were happy with the room as they bumped us up to a good view of the Marina. The hotel and rooms were very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. We were looking for a casual, but good restaurant where we could kick back, relax and enjoy a good meal. Liz at the front desk recommended the Boatyard, which turned out to be exactly what we were hoping for and more, with great food and service. The Boatyard is within walking distance from the hotel just beyond the bridge. Two of us walked while the others in our group took advantage of the hotel shuttle. The shuttle was great as a few members of our group have some difficulty walking any distances. The driver was so friendly and prompt. It is a wonderful service and we were happy not to have to use our car. We decided to have breakfast in the restaurant attached to the hotel and we were not disappointed. We had a great view of the Marina and we all enjoyed our tasty choices. We only had a one night stay over but we plan to come back and explore this beautiful area in the near future. When we do we will definitely stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: We were in room 323 which had a super view of the Marina.

We were delayed at the airport and had a late check in and were very hungry. Steve checked us in and was so gracious - room service was just closing and he made sure we got a delicious(over the top) Maryland Crab salad and Maryland Crab cakes delivered to our waterfront balcony room. Off to a great start we then met Maggie who took the time to drive us to the front door of the Naval Academy for a very special wedding after someone took our cab she had waiting for us.

THIS is the place to stay - Thank you Colleen for being such a great General Manager - it shows in your staff. We will be back to go sailing for sure!

We had not been to Annapolis for a number of years so decided to take a weekend away close to home and wanted to be on the water as that is what Annapolis is all about. Well our choice of hotels could not have been worse. We are Ritz/Marriott Rewards members and usually stay at Rizt hotels and now we know why. This hotel is what I could only imagine a Motel 6 would be like. The bathroom was so small, dingy, outdated (1970's) and no fan and not very clean etc. The only thing that we can say nice about the entire hotel is the view of the water. The rooms are so outdated and dirty I cannot believe the price we paid to stay here. We travel around the world and we have to say this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Marriott Hotels should be ashamed to have this as one of their hotels. The restaurant which we had drinks one night and breakfast was clearly was not clean the the wait staff was a disgrace. I did not sleep all night because of the unclean smell of the room. Thank goodness I could open the windows in the morning. From now on we will be very cautious about booking a Marriott hotel if this is the standard they strive for.....very sad.

Room Tip: I cannot recommend any room as the entire hotel is so run down and it is a dump

My husband and I recently stayed at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel and were thrilled with the entire experience. Check-in was efficient and courteous and for an additional $20 per night, we were upgraded to a room with partial water views. The room was immaculate, very spacious and comfortable. Excellent linens and feather pillows provided upon request. This hotel is in location A-Plus, right on the water, with water taxi service to area restaurants and attractions. The bar and restaurant are on the harbor with great specialty drink menu and excellent pub grub...prices very reasonable as well. This hotel is in convenient walking distance to all the major attractions including the Naval Academy. Never needed to take the car out of their garage.

We had a great time staying here in Annapolis. We pulled up and parked our car with the valet. The $22 charge is billed to your room, so you don't have to worry about having money to pay for it on-site/arrival.

We got there early but the front desk agents were able to give us a room right away. We booked a waterfront room with a balcony. I cannot say enough good things about this room. While the hotel is in a great location and proximity to everything, it is the waterfront balcony rooms that will make your stay! It was beyond relaxing to just sit out there at the table and chairs, sipping a Painkiller from Pussers down below, and watch the boats sail past your balcony as they come in and out of Ego Alley. The room was rather large (we had a kingsize bed). We had a corner room so we were able to see both the city and water views. Was it a modern/totally updated room? No it wasn't, but it met our needs. It has a fridge in the room, a flat screen tv, spacious closet in the bathroom and the usual amenities. The best part is that room service delivers from Pussers, so you can order Painkillers right up to your balcony and not leave the room.

Another great thing about this hotel is the staff. They provide a complimentary Lexus shuttle to drive you anywhere you want in Annapolis within a mile. ust call them when you're ready to be picked up. The valet guy was amazing. There were a few other people ahead of us for the shuttle at one point and we needed to get to our dinner reservation on time, so he arranged for a cab for us, compliments of the hotel. Superb service and definitely something that stood out to us.

Room service was extremely quick. We ordered twice from room service and both times things were brought up within 20 minutes of when we called. Food was hot and accurate. Pretty good considering the restaurant is next door and not in the hotel.

Overall, we loved our experience here and already booked a return stay. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting amazing views and a great location with a friendly, helpful staff. It's worth the money!!

Room Tip: ask for a waterfront balcony room on a corner!

One would think that Annapolis would boast plenty of waterfront lodging, but this isn't the case. The Annapolis Marriott Waterfront is a standout among Annapolis hotels for the simple fact that they sit directly on the water next to city dock (practically over the water if you upgrade to one of their balcony rooms). On the water side, a boardwalk wraps around the building, which also serves as the dock for Schooner Woodwind cruises (also highly recommended).

The hotel could rely on their location alone to drive business, but they don't. Pusser's Caribbean Grille is attached to the hotel and is also one of the few restaurants in Annapolis with true waterfront dining and the food is excellent. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The beds and other furniture are very comfortable. The hotel boasts all of the modern amenities, including wi-fi and on-demand movies, and the room service is above average. The front desk staff has always been very pleasant.

Valet service is an additional $22/night with unlimited in/out during your stay. This is more expensive than the City garages, so if you'd rather save a few bucks and walk a couple blocks down main street, you could certainly do that. The location in terms of downtown Annapolis couldn't be better. It's a very pedestrian-friendly city and the whole of the retail and dining district is within about half a mile of the hotel. Literally, anything and everything downtown is an easy walk.

There are other 4-5 star hotels in Annapolis, but if you're looking for upscale on the water, this is it.

Room Tip: Go for the private balcony. As long as you're spending the money to stay at the Marriott, you m...

We stay at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel every August . My Pookie and I were celebrating our anniversary .. When we arrived at the room we were overwhelmed with view - very clean and well appointed We had a great view of ego ally. You can see for miles and it was so relaxing just to sit and watch the activity of the harbor. From what I understand this is the only waterfront hotel in Annapolis and it's well worth the price we paid. The service was outstanding and all the staff, front desk, housekeeping and restaurant were wonderful! There is always a wedding at this hotel its great fun to see young the midshipmen in their dress whites getting married, We will visit Annapolis again and will definitely stay at the Marriott! xoxo Kasha
