We were at the Loews for a business conference and the food and facilities were pretty standard. The hotel is undergoing significant renovation and our conference coordinator was quite annoyed that, despite their assurances, the work wasn't finished before our event. But from what we could see of it, the renovations are probably going to be worth the wait.
The best part of the Loews was the location. An easy walk from the Harbor, the Naval Academy, etc. And the ECruiser system (essentially "golf cart limos") was terrific. Especially ask about guided E Cruiser historical tours. We had a 90 minute mini tour and it was fascinating.
As for the dogs? Well, their slogan is "Loews Likes Pets" and the place was full of dogs. Personally it didn't bother us. And if you like traveling with dogs, this is certainly the place for you. But if a yipping dog in the next room or dog hairs throughout the hotel troubles you, I'd avoid this property like a plague!
But for dog and/or history lovers, the Loews is certainly worth your attention.
