We stayed at the Lowes for New Year's Eve. The hotel is in a great location, only about 1/2 mile from the city docket and market square. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Only drawback was the mandatory $18 day valet parking. Would definitely recommend it for someone who wants to stay close to downtown.

Spending the weekend during the sailboat show 7-8 October,
the hotel offered calming atmosphere away from the boating crowd.
The rooms are standard 3+ to 4 star with large TV(not flat screen) and plenty of minibar options.
The front desk and bell/valet guys were very helpful
Enjoyed a great breakfast at the hotel, but otherwise the
Main Street restaurants and shops are only 10-15 min walk away.
Its only 20min walk to the harbor, but the hotel also offers a complementary on-call shuttle.
The hotel is perfectly situated next to the center - close for walking and easy access by car.
I will definitively go back.

Used Priceline to book a weekend at the Loews, and glad I did. The hotel was well-appointed, with spacious, comfortable rooms around an (obvious) nautical motif. The service was really top-notch... though the roast beef sandwich we ordered from room service at 2 a.m. left a bit to be desired (we were drunk, so who cares). Also, beware that the parking rate is high - I didn't know we had to pay for parking, and was surprised when my bill arrived. It is a credit to the staff (and to my own stupidity, I suppose) that they agreed to waive the parking charges when I called the front desk to explain that I thought it was free.

Overall, highly recommended.

I recently stayed here with my two sisters over a weekend. It is in a fabulous location. We were able to walk to downtown easily, but they have a complimentary shuttle if you need a ride to or from the Historic District. The room was very nice and the beds were oh so comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The concierge was full of information and very helpful, but sometimes hard to find at her desk. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.
