My husband, our 17 year old son, and I just return from a four night visit to Annapolis and stayed at the extremely delightful Annapolis Inn. This circa-1770 inn is so elegant, and the charming hosts are warm, friendly, and informative regarding the history of the area, restaurant recommendations, and various points of interest....of which there are many in this historic part of Annapolis. The inn's location could not be in a more perfect spot. It is located on a very quiet street, but just steps from the harbor, the United States Naval Academy, and the 1780 Maryland State House. We stayed in the lovely master suite which has a large sitting room, and it was luxurious beyond compare. The gourmet breakfast served every morning in the beautiful dining room was fabulous, and we were completely spoiled during our time at The Annapolis Inn.

“Finest Accommodations in Annapolis”

Annapolis Inn

May 5, 2008

Having traveled to Annapolis multiple times, I found The Annapolis Inn to be the best place to stay on my most recent visit. It is truly top notch on par with places I have stayed around the world. The innkeepers (Alex and Joe) made us feel like family and were very responsive to our requests and questions. The house is exquisite and no expense has been spared with heated floors and towel racks in the bathrooms to the hand painted sinks. The location is unbeatable and extremely convenient to visit the Naval Academy as well as the downtown area. The breakfast is amazing all the way from the presentation to the various courses. We can’t wait to get back to Annapolis to stay at The Annapolis Inn again soon!

“Amazing Visit”

Annapolis Inn

May 4, 2008

I can't remember how many times we have stayed at The Annapolis Inn since 2002 and to say that the service and ambiance are above and beyond comparison is an understatement. When we need to relax and get away, there is no other place we would ever stay at, and if they are booked, I will postpone our visit until they have availability for us. The inn is so incredibly beautiful and immaculate, and the innkeepers, Joe and Alex, spin their charm and warmth in a way that makes staying at any other place unthinkable. They are incredibly friendly, gracious, accommodating, so generous with their time and know how to anticipate our needs and requests. You know from the very start that they care about you and want you to have a wonderful visit. They make you feel like family and have an amazing ability to touch your heart. We always leave The Annapolis Inn looking forward to our next visit. It's a second home. I just have to make one call to reserve my room, and they plan our whole visit. We don't have to think about a single thing. Their enormous breakfast can go on for hours, and you just can't seem to get enough of their tales of innkeeping, the Midshipmen they sponsor and events and activities in Annapolis. The Annapolis Inn has rewritten the definitions of hospitality, comfort and service in a way that no one else can compete with.

“Ideally Situated Historic Inn”

This was our 2nd stay at the Annapolis Inn and we enjoyed ourselves even more the 2nd time around! We stayed for 3 nights and brought more family members with us so we occupied 2 beautifully restored rooms. Our rooms had nearly every amenity imaginable, including chocolates and luxury bath products. Hosts Joe and Alex are warm and generous and go out of their way to make you feel as if you're staying in their home rather than in a hotel room. The full breakfast every morning is a gastronomical feast not to be missed! They were very helpful in making dinner suggestions and reservations, as well as offering us ideas about what to do during our stay in Annapolis. It's nice to know that "Southern Hospitality" is still alive and well at the Annapolis Inn!

“Heaven on Earth”

Annapolis Inn

May 21, 2006

My girlfriend (now fiancee) and I just returned from a weekend getaway at the Annapolis Inn. The purpose of weekend was to propose to my girlfriend which involved the assistance with numerous arrangements (horse and carriage, private boat charter, restuarant reservations and utmost secrecy surrounding the proposal) from the Innkeepers to make the propopsal a complete surprise.

First and foremost the level of accomodations is beyond compare. The Inn is the most perfect balance of comfort and sophistication imaginable. We stayed in the Rutland Suite and more perfect accomodations could not have been created. From the remote controlled air jet tub for two, the finest linens imaginable, a bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud and a sun deck which provided the most amazing view of the neighborhood including the Naval Academy Chapel Dome, the accomodations were perfection. All of this while maintaining the incredible historic value of the Inn.

As impressive as the accomodations were the weekend was truly made by the Innkeepers themselves. Two more gracious, accomodating and welcoming Innkeepers I doubt have ever existed. To say that the Annapolis Inn felt like home is an incredible understatement and this sentiment was shared by all guests around the breakfast table. To speak of breakfast is to speak of the most perfect meal ever created. I don't know that I have ever been served a meal that provided such a perfect balance.

In the overall scheme of this week (Commission week for the Naval Academy) I sincerely doubt that my proposal was high ranking on the list of guests for the Inn and yet the Innkeepers not only met, but far exceeded requests that stretched well beyond reasonable. For our weekend we were truly family to the Innkeepers and I cannot wait for our next of many visits.

For anyone seeking a bed and breakfast experience in Annapolis (or for that matter anywhere on the Chesapeake) to choose other than the Annapolis Inn would truly be their lose.
