“Overall, a nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

We stayed here over the 4th of July. The rate was decent for a busy holiday, and was cheaper than several surrounding hotels. Our room was nice...clean, beds were comfortable, the room had a separate sitting area, a minifridge, and a microwave. Towels were of adequate quality, and water pressure and temperature was good. Check in/out went smoothly, and front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended that we take a cab rather than drive into town for the fireworks, which was fantastic advice, and well worth the cost of the cab in order to avoid the hassle of driving, parking, and walking. Furthermore, they promptly offered to arrange for a cab on our behalf, which worked out very well. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room, and was not exceptional, but was fine. It was VERY crowded, the french toast was cold, and the orange juice that my son got happened to be the bottom of the "barrel," it seems, as it was very light in color, and watery, but I feel that these issues were simply the result of the amount of people that were going through the small buffet area...the staff was doing its best to keep up. We did not use the pool, but I did use the workout room, and that was nice...2 treadmills, 2 or 3 ellipticals, a stair stepper, free weights, mats, universal weights, temperature set at a comfortable 67 degrees (I hate when workout rooms in hotels are set at room temperature...67 is great!), and towels were available. There were 2 televisions and a remote, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get the cable to work..it kept saying the system was resetting. That wasn't a big deal, though, and the bottom line is I was able to get in a good workout in a comfortable, adequate space. I would stay here again. The location was good, it had everything we needed, it was clean, and the employees were pleasant. I do recommend it.

The hotel was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Stayed here for 4 days and found the room comfortable though on the small side. Needed an extra suitcase holder and more hangers which housekeeping promptly provided. Breakfast was busy. I liked that a staff person was always there replenishing coffee and food. The exercise room had the standard equipment. Had to go into the hall to get water though. Back to the room, my one complaint was that I could hear 2 very young children next door screaming, fussing etc. starting very early in the morning. Thankfully the family was only there 1 night.

This was my first time staying in a Spring Hill Property and it was perfect. The room was large and the service was far better that any other place that I have stayed in the past few months. The beds were very comfortable as well. I purchased this hotel room on priceline.com as a name your own price and got it for $50 a night for a Friday. What a great bargain!

I think this hotel is a budget level of Marriott, however the experience was excellent. The room had 2 queens and a separate alcove with a sofa bed, in addition to a microwave and a refrigerator. Everything seemed new, very clean, and high functioning. The breakfast was adequate, although sort of standard. the staff was extremely friendly.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We stayed at the Spring Hill Suites for four nights while attending a wedding at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. The hotel was clean and modern and everything worked well. The free breakfast was ample and the staff left the food out longer than the stated end time, a benefit for us late sleepers. The staff was pleasant and helpful, recommending good places to eat nearby. The location is about 3 miles from the center of Annapolis and it is easy to go into town on West Street or by Route 50. The Annapolis Town Center mall is a very short drive and offers lots of shopping and dining choices. However, the size of the rooms was a disappointment, in particular the bedroom of the "suite". There was relatively little room around the bed and we encountered problems trying to put two suitcase stands in places that did not impede traffic in the room. The rooms would be more spacious and less claustrophobic if they simply removed the wall separating the two halves, but then they wouldn't be "suites". We were also disappointed with the single sink, which made it difficult for two people to dress for wedding events at the same time. The bed was not particularly comfortable. My wife slept okay the first night but then had problems sleeping the next 3 nights. In contrast, I slept poorly the first night and better the next 3 nights but I always had trouble getting to sleep. There was only a single TV that one had to turn to view it from the appropriate room. There was no closeable door between the rooms. The room was generally fairly quiet, but children in the adjoining room were noisy in the mornings. One oddity we ran into is that the maids came to clean the room at around 4:00 p.m. One day we left at about 11:30 a.m. and came back at 4:00 p.m., thinking that they would have plenty of time to clean, but the room had not been serviced. We were trying to relax before the wedding reception that evening and the maids showed up, insisting that they had to clean the room then, before they went home. We had no choice but to let them do so. Overall, we had a very nice time in Annapolis but the rooms at SpringHill Suites could have been better.

On a girl-friends trip, chose this hotel b/c it has 2 beds & sofabed so each of us could have a bed. Room was clean and attractive, and beds had the "European" look with a white duvet. Sofabed was comfortable enough for a short stay. We did not visit the pool or hottub, but the breakfast selection was good (waffles, yogurt, eggs, cereal, etc). Deskclerk directed us to a local restaurant that had reasonable priced seafood and a good view. Typical hotel, 10 minutes from downtown Annapolis, and a pleasant stay.

Generally happy with stay. The room was clean and good sized. The hotel was nice and the breakfast was quality. The only beef with the place was the concept of a "pool". It was not much more square footage than one of the suites. If you have kids and that is important for vacation that is something to consider. For my family I probably wouldn't stay here again because of that. Without kids it is a great value.
