I live in Baltimore and head down to Annapolis every now and then to walk around the water, check out the shops, grab a bite to eat, etc. Last weekend, I was visiting with my boyfriend and his mother. We read a few menus outside of restaurants and landed on Factor's Row because the menu seemed to be small enough but had a good mix of seafood and other options. Upon being seated, we were given 2 lunch menus and 1 brunch menu. The waitress said that brunch ended at noon. (It was 12:03 pm.) But that we could still order it. The advertisement on the table said that brunch ended at 12:30 pm. When we walked by later in the day (3:30 pm), people could be seen outside eating waffles. The confusion of the menus and times for brunch was strike 1. I decided on lunch, so I ordered the fried cod sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the burger. Minutes after ordering, the waitress returned to tell me that they were out of cod. How are you out of something that's on your menu?! You can maybe be out of a special, but not a standard menu item. And even if you are out of it (which is absurd), then you could tell guests ahead of time. Strike 2. I didn't know what to order, so I went for a BLT. We waited and waited. 2 other guests that arrived at the same time as us got their order. We waited. Strike 3. Eventually our food came. And at this point, if my food had been good, I would've forgotten about the strikes. However, my BLT was terrible. It was served on a baguette, so the bread was much too thick for such a simple sandwich. The menu described it being served with aioli. There was no aioli. The bacon had pieces that were undercooked and overcooked, and there were 2 huge pieces of tomato with very little bacon and lettuce. The waitress said that it came with a side salad, which was described to my boyfriend's mother as dried cranberries with blue cheese crumbles and pine nuts and a champagne vinaigrette. My boyfriend's mother received the side salad that was described to her. I received a bed of green with tomatoes on it and a lot of oil with no flavor. At this point, I had more than given up. I tried my boyfriend's burger since my sandwich sucked. Unfortunately, the burger was very greasy. Our waitress was friendly. However, that just doesn't make up for mistake after mistake. We will not return.
