“Wonderful beautiful place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

What an incredible and beautiful place to visit. First of all it is a great campus that has a tremendous depth of history, tradition and houses the best and brightest all-around students our country has to offer. I would especially recommend visiting Bancroft Hall and the Chapel where John Paul Jones, a naval hero from the Revolutionary War, is enshrined beneath the chapel. It also is on the water which makes for a tremendous walk around the campus.

It is located in downtown Annapolis which is close to some great restaurants and shopping. Be careful not to visit during Boat Week though because even though there are great boat shows, it is very crowded.

“Don't Miss the USNA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

If your are visiting Annapolis don't miss the opportunity to visit the United States Naval Academy. We chose to take the $10.00 tour offered at the visitor's center. After clearing security visitors may stroll the campus on their own. We found the tour to be well worth what we paid. Our guide was retired from the Navy, although he was not an Academy grad. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the Academy's history and traditions, and about the Midshipman experience. We visited a variety of Academy landmarks and learned about their history and architecture.

We chose to have lunch at the Officer's Club. It is open to the public and is a good choice. Our meals were tasty, the service was good, and the setting was quite nice.

We were fortunate to be present for the noon-time Formation. If you enjoy pomp and circumstance, military precision, or just a good parade make sure to schedule your visit when you can see Formation. It was a very impressive ceremony.

The tour last about an hour. If you have time make sure you take a stroll around campus. I think you will find your time at the USNA WELL SPENT.

“A must see when visiting Annapolis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Make sure you have your ID, and unless you have a DoD ID you cannot drive your car in. It is a great campus to walk around, you can feel the history all around you and you have a great vantage point of the Annapolis City Dock as well as the bay. The chapel is also a must see (there is a 9am Catholic mass on Sunday). It is always refreshing to see the Mids walking around in their uniforms. During baseball season, the games are free and fun to watch. You will not regret it.

“Glad to finally toured the academy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We had a wonderful private tour given by Janet W. Her pride and knowledge were spectacular. She personalized the tour to our knowledge and background. Lots of very interesting stories and history, as well as noon formation.
