“Great Staff, especially Carlos at bar!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2009

We have come to the Doubletree Annapolis for various formal gatherings and functions including our private Home Association's Christmas parties. The staff at the hotel is always courteous and attentive. However, no guest should leave without meeting “Carlos at the bar. He has made my husband and I return with friends both for dinner and happy hour. Carlos is a wonderful asset for the hotel and we never cease to be amazed at how he treats every customer as if each was his first of the evening, with the very same courteous, welcoming and energetic attitude, as well as friendly smile. Tonight we had an opportunity to chat with him about our son’s upcoming wedding in May. Although the reception will be at the Naval Academy’s Officer’s Club, Carlos has convinced us to have the “après-reception” drinks at your bar. Furthermore, a block of rooms has been reserved at yoru hotel for the out of town guests coming to the wedding. Although we have not stayed at the Doubletree, we are tempted to tell some friends of ours who have reserved at least 10 rooms at the Westin for family members who are coming to their son’s graduation from the Naval Academy, to consider changing their reservations to the Doubletree. This is all because of Carlos and the atmosphere he creates for your guests! Thank you!

Loved how Carlos and Charlie made my wife and I feel right at home!

Only thing I would change about hotel is adding a hot tub!

I was in town with my son for a hockey tournament. We were given choices of which hotel to book from the tournament director, and this was a great hotel. Great room, awesome bed and the cookies, I love Doubletrees for that reason. The restaurant in the hotel, the Ports of Call, was great for a burger. Carlos took great care of us the afternoon we were there.
The only problem I encountered were the obnoxious parents that couldn't keep their kids under control. I spoke with the front desk about the parents and the kids, and I believe they did everything they could to coral and quiet the kids, and match them up with their parents. We travel for hockey often and there are always the parents who let their children go crazy during these tournaments. I would absolutely return to this hotel.

Upon visiting relatives in Maryland, my family and I reserved rooms at the Doubletree Hotel,Annapolis,Md. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very accomodating. I did happen to observe on several occasions the staff interacting with some other guests, parents and children of a hockey tournement going on that were staying at the hotel also. The parents,as well as the children should be embarassed by their behavior. They were very loud, rude and obnoxious. Inconsiderate of all other people around them "except their own"! Late night or early morning you could find the children,or should I say hear, the children bouncing of the furniture and walls.
Thanks to the staff that went out of their way to make our stay from Massachusetts as pleasant as possible!
To you Hockey parents,if you are not going to repect the hotel and it's other guests than go stay at a Motel 6!

Other than the warm cookie at sign-in, this was the worst hotel stay ever. They charge higher rates for groups than you could get on your own.

The TV did not work and it took a long time for it to be temporarily fixed. Before the end of the stay, it was broken again. It also had a scratched screen.

One bed fell through the bed railing.

They advertise wings for their Sunday night football but they only had 13 wings and 2 wait staff for 100 people.

The front desk staff heard hundreds of complaints about unsupervised children running through the halls after midnight. NOTHING was done.

The manager and the front desk people should be fired immediately.

Old Bridge High School Marching Knights Band had a competition in Annapolis, therefore the Band Tour company chose this hotel, due to the proximity of the Stadium and Inland Harbor, Baltimore, the next day.
Upon arrival, the hotel was beautiful. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies they offer are wonderful. After that, it all went downhill. Unlike Hampton Inn, there was no 24/7 complimentary tea and coffee. Only a limited Starbucks, open until 9:30, with Starbucks prices.
Having a Band trip of 100 people, 25 adults and 75 teenagers (approx), trying to get into ONE TEENSY TINY elevator was absolutely ridiculous. Yes, there were stairs, but come on! This is a Hilton.
The rooms were accommodating and very clean.
The next morning, as we looked forward to a Deluxe Continental breakfast, complete with hot items. The hot items were the coffee and the hot water. There was fresh fruit, muffins, danish and croissants. Hardly a DELUXE breakfast for 75 hungry kids....and less than healthy as well.
My daughters toe was injured at the hotel. Not their fault, but on their property none the less. We asked for a wheelchair to get her to this breakfast after explaining what happened. They got us the wheelchair PERIOD. No one asked if they could help, if they could do anything, wanted us to fill out an incident report or anything!
Now, time for checkout.....in the ONE TEENY TINY elevator.
Wouln't recommend this place at all.

Doubletree was a nice hotel. It was about 5 miles from the downtown area but they had a free shuttle that would take you and pick you up in a 5 mile radius. The hotel also had a restaurant, coffee shop and they gave you free cookies at check in! There was a convention that was going on that was a little annoying and made some of the areas congested but not too bad. The hotel was clean and the food was good. Annapolis was a quaint town and I would recommend staying here unless you plan on paying big bucks for downtown hotels.
