“Great rum and great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We have eaten at Paladar many times with great results each nad every time. The runm selection is outstanding. The Ropa Veja is superb as is the guacamole with a very different assortment of chips. join the Paladar club and get specials for your briday and other occassions. The only down side is all the beers are bottled. Wish they would add some craft beers on draft. They are right across the street from a brew pub.

“Bland food, horrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Although the plates served to us (party of 8) all *looked* plentiful and appetizing, it was all very bland. It took us from the time we ordered our checks until we walked out having paid- over an hour. It was simply nuts. Barely an "I'm sorry" and no comps or discounts or coupons for future visits to make up for wasting so much of our time. That was on top of overall slow service.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We enjoyed the food, I have viisted a few times and never have been disappointed with the food or service. The staff was helpful and explained the dishes. It was noisy when I went on a Saturday night but quieter for lunch. The outside area is a nice choice in the evening.

“Great Flavors from South of the Border”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Nestled among the trendy boutique shops and eateries in Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole is Paladar, which bills itself as a Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar. I’m usually slow to check out chain restaurants, and Paladar is a small one, with a half dozen locations, mostly in the Metro DC area. But some friends wanted to meet us for lunch yesterday, so off we went to Paladar.

It turned out to be a good call indeed. Paladar’s menu features a mix of Mexican and Central/South American cuisine and something to suit most any taste.

We started with some Mojitos and two types of guacamole, one spicy and one with heirloom tomatoes and basil. They were accompanied by a basket of dippers … not just the usual tortilla chips, but also strips of fried yucca and plantain and rounds of fried malanga. Both varieties were very good, and we enjoyed the different flavors of the dip strips.

My wife went for the Ropa Vieja for her entrée, and I had the Feijoada. I haven’t eaten that since I was in Lisbon a couple decades ago, and back then I pushed the blood sausage to the side. This version was Brazilian, with a slightly different seasoning mix and chorizo instead of blood sausage, along with a bit of green cabbage. Regardless, it was delicious, and only a sense of decorum kept me from licking the platter clean. My wife relished her Ropa Vieja, but had to take half of it home. Big portions.

Our dining partners went with more tame entrees (Quesadilla and Huevos Rancheros), and enjoyed them as well.

Good efficient service and respectable prices, and great food. I’ll be back.

“Great Happy Hour Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Sitting outside before the Friday night concert, great food, drinks were over the top and service was excellent (sorry I can't remember our waiteress name) Braised beef tacos are delicious, queso fundido decadent, quac watery but chips awesome. Can't wait to go back:)
