“Compact building packed with history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This relatively small capital building is packed with history. On a previous visit we were able to take the free tour, which was excellent. This time we had a couple of conversations with the police officer who does the security checks before you enter. Do come see this historic building which is the oldest in continuous use in the nation.

“worth your time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

This is the oldest statehouse in the U.S. Was once used by the US Congress when Annapolis was the nations captial. Lots of historic events took place here. If you time it right you can tag along with elementaery school tours that seem to go on here frequently

“interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

I took a walking tour that included a tour of the state house. They are in the process of restoring some parts of the building, but it was still interesting and informative. See where the state government meets. the rooms are impressive. See where George washington gave in his resignation.

“Visit History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Maryland State House is a great visit for history buffs. Now showing exhibition on war of 1812. much of building has been restored and is in excellent condition. Had excellent experience touring the site. Recommend for sightseeing, shopping in surrounding area and restuarants for local and historical food selections. What is a visit to Maryland without a crabcake

“Historic, restored, great for candid photo ops”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

The property is well maintained. Makes a nice walking tour, especially when the assembly is not in session. Many spots to stop and take interesting photos. Probably would not appeal to young children. Walk around State Circle to get a full appreciation for the state house.
