“Gracious handling of a difficult situation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

I'd like to thank the owners of this beautiful place for their understanding and gracious way they handled our difficult situation. We arrived on a gorgeous afternoon and immediately saw that there were dogs and cats on the property. I had not inquired if there were animals in the house, but I obviously knew that it was a farm and I should have thought that there would be lots of animals around. I mistakenly assumed that the pets lived outside. Both myself and one of my guests are violently allergic to the dander of cats and dogs and so there was no way we could consider staying the night. The rooms were clean with beautiful views of the water, but there was no way we could risk staying.Thank you for your understanding and not even charging us a deposit for our booking. I will recommend this to others who don't have our allergies.

We really enjoyed staying here! We stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms which was nice to check out the different rooms. Both were really nice though we really loved the room with the deck. Beautiful views of the water! We loved talking to Joan and learning about how the B&B came about. She has so much info to share. The animals were nice to see too. The weather wasn't the greatest when we actually had time to walk the trails or look at the animals so hopefully next time we can do that. Joan was super nice and her breakfasts are awesome!!! She really made us feel like we were family. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

There is so much you can say about this place. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are extremely cozy. The animals are full of personality. The owner is phenomenal. My wife and I stayed here for two nights as we were traveling up and down the coast of Maine for our 10 year anniversary. This place by far has left a huge impression in our memories of Maine. This B&B sits right on the water situated on 110 acres of land. A lot of room to roam around. The breakfast in the mornings are to die for. Leaving the windows open at night for the fresh air and the bell ringing in the background will leave you dreaming of this place for some time to come. So much I bought a bell and put it up at home. Not the same, wind doesn't blow as much here. Give this B&B a try you will not be disappointed and don't forget to walk a llama.

We stayed October 15, 16 & 17th 2012 and what a great place this was. Joan, our hostess, cook and owner, was great.

110 wooded acres, hiking paths, 2 miles of rough shoreline, very little light polution for star watching and beautiful scenery everywhere.

Breakfast was OUTSTANDING !!

Room Tip: There is an apartment above the "barn" or garage and a couple of rooms in the main home...

My daughters and I traveled twice up the coast of Maine and this is The favorite spot. If your young adults love animals, there are none so interesting and well cared for than here. The llamas are most special. It's a beautiful waterfront bed and breakfast from which you can day trip to explore Campobella (bring your passport and have tea with Eleanor), Lubec (the eastern most part of the US), and Eastport, which we have yet to see. In Eastport take a whale watch tour in a schooner. Our goal on each of these trips was to eat lobster once each day, and this was easily accomplished. Caution: do not get caught without gas before nightfall. We had a close call in Lubec, but people up there are very nice so we probably would have been rescued.
Thanks, to a wonderful host!

We went to Addison ME to visit nearby friends but ended up falling in love with this B&B/Llama Farm. Right on the inlet to Addison, the view was lovely from our private balcony. We booked the two room suite which turned out to be a very private apartment, upstairs with own entrance. Living Room, kitchen, bath and large bedroom. We slept like a log!

Our hostess was friendly and informative. She made our breakfast herself and even gave us a choice and served it at a huge antique table with other guests. She then sat down and chatted with us on just about everything. We enjoyed this part of our days as much as any other time.

We re looking forward to returning to Addison in the near future and will stay here again without hesitation. No worries here mate.

While this place is a bit off the beaten path, it is more than worthy of a trip, let alone a stay-over. The house, the grounds, the setting, the views, are all breathtaking. Our host showed us through the whole place and we were free to use her kitchen and all the facilities. We could have had our supper on the lawn by the bay, or on the patio, or on the enclosed porch, or in the house. Any one setting would have been great. The animals were interesting, friendly, and virtually posed for our picture-taking. Breakfast was not only sumptuous and delicious, but was a work of art and we enjoyed eating with the other guests at the baronial dining room table. The breakfast alone was worth the price of the stay. Our host was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Very highly recommend.
