“Terrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2010

Super noisy AC, you just can´t sleep. Rooms are not clean, the place is old. Rug was dirty, elevators are very old. No internet in the room!!! And the price is not that good, I can´t recommend staying here to anyone. Only the staff were ok

This place is basically a youth hostel with private rooms. It was clean, but dingy and dark with small windows and very old drapery. Rooms are spartan with very minimal decoration to make them feel warm. Pool was a sad looking affair. The positives are the price (we paid $83/night) and the staff, which was friendly and helpful. I would not stay here again, as you can book a much more comfortable hotel for not much more (we paid $139 for the brand new, really nice Courtyard a few blocks away).

My first impression is that this hotel used to be something, but it's faded a lot. I went up to the roof, which has a fabulous view, but it's dirty and full of junk, including piles of rope lights. That makes me think it was once a really nice rooftop bar. The rooms are nice, and as is common in Central America, the bathroom and shower are as big as some hotel rooms. It's kind of a crappy street, with low-end businesses. But there's a really good Japanese restaurant next door, and a very good Peruvian restaurant a block away, where the dining is upscale and the prices surprisingly reasonable (highly recommended). One block farther is a big newish mall, somewhat upscale. Nice ice cream shop, and the only other thing in the neighborhood is a lot of new car dealers. The outdoor pool is pretty decent. Service was good. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but I asked the desk guy if there was someplace I could get a beer. He said he'd find some, and in ten minutes a guy was at my door with a frosty cold six-pack, which he sold me for about the same price I'd pay at a convenience store. Bed was fine. It took me a day or two to get accustomed to the place, but I grew to like it and feel right at home there. The street in front has strange asphalt, and while there isn't much traffic at night, each car that goes by makes more noise than you'd expect.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days until i could finally get a room at another hotel. It was a horrible experience - the staff is probably the only positive thing I could say. The bed was awful, uncomfortable, the sheets smelled bad, the AC was too loud but I had to keep it on at full power all the time otherwise the whole room would smell. The fridge was dripping and making a lot of noise .. bathroom was disgusting .. the pool was in horrible shape and full of dust and mud... I really don't know how some people have written such positive reviews - this place really is a trap - avoid at all costs!

I have to keep telling myself it is about the expierence not comfort. VERY outdated. Everything was worn down from years of use. I pulled the shades to make it dark only to discover them in shreds. They had been stuck together for years we may have been the only people to try and darken the room. Hot wings and bologna were included for breakfast.

because there were not other hotels available, a friend take me to this one. BAD hotel, the sheets were very, very old, and dirty.
The room smell like bleach a lot. can not sleep because of that.
the staff NOT nice. I would never go back again. and for the price $130.00 per night it is a fraud and steal. In Panama I have been in betters than this one for the same price or less, like the executive Hotel.

I just got back from Panama, and staying at Crystal Suites was a great experience.

I love that hotel, it's very clean, comfortable, safe and the staff was very friendly and polite. It is a great price for the size of rooms you will not be disappointed. The pool there is great if you aren't looking for a sandy day lol. The restaurant was awesome the food was scrumptious and the service was perfect. I used the dry cleaning service and it was fine the only problem was it took a little while to deliver it but i was pleased to have my clothes clean. They also provide free internet service which is convenient and i was extremely surprised at the speed of the third world countries internet connection.

I would definitely go back and raise this to a 5 star hotel.
