We stayed here on the last night of our 9 night trip to Costa Rica/Panama. I was able to get a discounted travel agent rate, so the price was very good for the rooms, but I don't think it was worth the full price they were regularly asking. The location is pretty good; next to a big mall/casino, but to get anywhere else you've gotta cab it. The rooms were nice and the decor was excellent. The pool area was especially cool -- the pool is on the 4th floor, outdoors and overlooks some cool buildings. I agree with some of the other reviews though, this place was a bit impersonal. It's what you'd expect from a place as big and expensive as this though. The other patrons were mostly well-to-do Panamanians that kept mostly to themselves. The bar was really cool but the staff wasn't that friendly. The front desk staff was good, but the rest (bartenders, business center staff, taxi staff) could have used some lessons in friendliness. All in all, this was a plush place to stay, and I felt it fit right into the Panama City culture (the Decapolis would be right at home in New York City). It was a big departure from the smaller, friendlier, more personal hotels that we stayed at during the rest of the trip, but it was very comfortable and a fun way to end the trip.

I can't believe that this is a $200 a night hotel. The hotel is very nice but the service is horrible. They say that one of their amenities is wireless Internet. However, when you go to log in, they want $19.99 a day for it. Also, they give you a $20 drink coupon to use at the bar. When you go to use the coupon, they tell you after the fact it is only good for certain drinks and stick you with a big bill. I was never so embarrassed in my life. I complain to the corporate site about the service and the hotel doesn't even respond to corporate. Corporate just accepts this and drops it. Please save your money and go somewhere else. This hotel is a nitemare. I would NEVER stay at a Raddison again.

I stayed at the Decapolis July 2-6 and thought it was a lovely hotel. It very modern, but still comfortable. The front desk staff were very pleasant, and gave me a nice ocean room on the 24th floor, per my request. The complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning as well as the $20 complimentary per night bar tab are both great touches. And should definitely be considered when weighing the options of staying at a slightly cheaper hotel. It was nice to hang out with young and chic of Panama city on Friday night at the hotel bar on the first floor and then just go upstairs to a quiet room. The pool area was lovely, the hot tub could have been hotter, but the staff was very friendly. The fitness center equipment could use some updating, but the treadmills and one elliptical machine worked. One point of note, do not bother to have the hotel staff call a Taxi for you. There is some kind of arrangement between those taxis and hotel where you get charged a ridiculously high rate- like 3-4times what it should cost! Walk out to the street and hail a taxi yourself, ask the driver the fair before getting in and you will be fine. Taxis are very very cheap in Panama City, even so, no one wants to be a sucker.

We arrived mid afternoon, and the rooms were not ready so they immediately upgraded us to a two room suite. Very nice........

This is a first class business hotel and well located. We stayed here for vacation and although very nice, not a great vacation place. My complaint....You have to wear long pants to eat in the restraunt even at 0800 in the morning, or to chill at the lobby bar. For a business man that is ok, but when you are on vacation and it is hot outside, wearing shorts is what I want to do.

Other than that, the food in the restraunt was great. The service was exceptional, the proximity to the Majestic Casino and the mall was very convenient.
