I went to Bon Vivant for lunch with a friend and we shared a Veggie salad, Turkey sandwich and a cheese plate. The salad was good, albeit nothing special, the sandwich was kind of small and was missing some crunch. It could have used some cucumber slices or something that wasn't mushy. The cheese plate was terrible. We were told that it would have Stilton, Brie, Manchego and some other cheeses. It had none of the cheeses that we were told. The selection was mostly hard very strong cheeses and it was overall quite unappealing.
The space and ambiance of this restaurant (and food shop) is quite nice and has a good feel to it. The chairs were a little uncomfortable though.
The service was not great, but not terrible. We had asked for the sandwich to be without the honey mustard it comes with, but they brought it with it all over it anyway. They replaced it, but considering it was the one simple change we made, it should have been pretty simple. Also, the whole cheese plate being different was also quite annoying. Other than that, the service wasn't bad.
As a foodie, I was quite excited to see what they had in the store, especially since there are not a lot of fine food stores in Panama. Overall, I felt let down and couldn't find anything to buy. Also there was no one in the food store section to help us, so even if I had a question, it couldn't be answered.
Overall, I'd say it's a miss. The space is cool, but the rest just fizzled...
