I stayed 6 nights in this hotel for business purposes and I really liked the hotel. If I were to come again for vacactions I would definitely choose this hotel. It is very family oriented, the pool is great for kids, breakfast buffet with lots of variety of foods, room is spacious and clean. Mi room had view of the canal and I really loved it! I know hotel is a little far away from malls and shopping centers, but taxis are US$ 8.00 -US$ 10.00 to almost anywhere in the city, so no big deal. I'd rather stay in this hotel than downtown where there is traffic and a seems a little more dangerous to me.

If you are a traveller (and not a tour bus type) this is not really for you. It scores zero on the cool scale, BUT it is the only hotel on the Canal and has suberb views and a nice pool. It is good for families or if you want to be situated in this part of town. We stayed here our last 2 nights because we were heading to Gamboa area our last day. So the negatives are: not cool at all, only overpriced cabs are available here, not well-located for visiting most of PC. But good for families, or if you are primarily going towards the Locks/Canal area.
One more note: we made reservations well in advance for a room with a view and when we got there they said that are reservation was for the prior month. Fortunately I had a printout of the email confirmation they sent - then we stressed that we reserved a view room, so they had to give us a suite. The moral - they are loose about reservations, so bring documentation! AND ask for a canal view room.

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. It was a distance from the airport but, we got a taxi for $40. Which wasn't bad for not pre-booking. It's cheaper if you pre book through the hotel. This hotel is on the Panama canal. If you are coming just for the canal, stay here. Which, Is why we did. We could watch the big boats go under the bridge of the Americias. We paid around $140 for our room through expedia. it is more for a room that looks over the canal. All the rooms have balconys. We didn't pay for the upgrade becuase we like going to the pool, and the restraunt overlooks it as well. But, our room was on the corner in the back ... and we had a great view of the Bridge and canal. So, we got lucky. The breakfast is simple but very good. They have passion fruit juce !! The front desk staff was very good and spoke english very well. They also arranged a tour for us that went well. The maids were quick ( cleaned our room while we were at breakfast) and always had a hello and smile. All in all a good hotel for the area. It's not the ritz but, it's not a hostel either. Free internet computers as well. CNN and BBC and a few other english channels too.

We would like to visit the country of PANAMA. So, when planning our vacation we were searching through internet the hotels of Panama City. Here in TripAdvisor we read each Hotel Review of Panama City. After that, we tried to check rates for some of them. We found through HOTEL-BOARD.COM a very reasonable rate for this hotel. Instead it is not a luxury hotel, but it is cosy. Staff is friendly and they do speak english. Breakfast is very very good (fruits are not that good as they are in BRAZIL), with sort of breads, ham and cheese, juices and cakes. Outside, they have a good pool and a Whirlpool next to it; the sun shines and burns strongly. Beside the hotel the T.G.I Friday's is a good option to eat. They offer a good plate of Shrimps. From there you can see the Panama Canal and there are boat trips you can join. The hotel is close to the AMADOR, a place plenty of restaurants and nice views and places to date. My wife loved that place. We also rented a car, although taxis seem not to be expensive, but we prefer independecy. By the date we visited Panama City, we could observe they are on an "EXTREMELY MAKE OVER" of that capital. There are many working areas in the city, which will improve safety, beauty and traffic in Panama. At the end of the day, relax at a cosy room in Country Inn Panama Canal.
