“Fantastic cuisine, outstanding service, wonderful setting. Great location for a business dinner.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Restaurants with a combination of good food and good service are difficult to locate in Panama City. The Rausch Restaurant definitely has these attributes combined with a wonderful modern setting. This is a good restaurant for business dinners, or for couples. The food was fantastic and the service even better. I would recommend the Tuna Tartar to begin, followed by the shrimp with chorizo sausage, and topped off with the Chocolate Fondant for dessert (this dessert needs to be ordered ahead of time). The restaurant in generally quiet, but could get noisy if there is a large group. Highly recommended restaurant for a business dinner, especially if you wish to impress out of town guests.

“Possibly the Best in Panama City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

This my second visit to Rausch, the first being a few weeks ago, and so I can comment on whether the quality of the restaurant is sustained.
Rausch sits in the basement of the Hotel Esplendor on Ave Samuel Lewis, near via Espana. The décor is simple and understated. The staff, especially the senior staff, are excellent. They arrive when whenever you need them without hovering. Rausch provides some of the best service in Panama City. So many restaurants here are let down by their poor service.
Four of us ate at Rausch on a Saturday night in which the restaurant's trade was steady but not busy. The price for four of us, including drinks, entrees and desserts, was $320 but this included an expensive bottle of champagne. We all agreed Rausch's prices are reasonable.
Most notable was the tuna tartare entrée which everyone loved, and the desserts are uniformly terrific. Try the Rausch special dessert platter at a very reasonable $10 or $11.
Try Rausch. You will be very happy you did.

“So Nice - I Went Twice - Classy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Was in town for 12 days on business and I would recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to entertain a large group, go out with executives and for a nice romantic meal.

Highly recommend the tasting menu and it compares with any tasting menu in the states. Small plates, great taste, great wine.

Only con is that as I found in most restaurants in Panama City - service was a little slow - so just know going in what you want and order quickly.

I was taken out here by executives and loved it so much I took a group of people who came into town days later to enjoy it. Great presentation.

**If you don't like fish or are lactose intolerant - tasting menu might not be for you.

It's also situated in the bottom of a hotel...taxis find it easier if you say the hotel name rather than the restaurant name.

You should wear something nicer than tourist wear to this restaurant as it truly is one of better classier places in town.

“Wow.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Not much more needs to be said. I have had an awesome evening with good friends at Rausch.
The food was stunning, the ambience was really nice and the service was terrific.
The only thing that could be improved upon is the time it takes for the bar to get a drink ready.
Prices are very fair for the quality you get. I can't wait to see whether they can deliver this experience once more when we return.
The waiter was very nice and observant, too.
I would rate Rausch under the top five restaurants I have been to (yes, outside of Panama) and it deserves a much higher rating here in Panama.

“Went twice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We went once on my wife's birthday and everything was truly perfect. She had perfectly grilled salmon and I had the filet, which was perfectly cooked and juicy tender. The Mushrooms in a brown sauce and the beef carpaccio appetizers were standouts. Service was smooth and efficient and when the was a problem with our limited Spanish arose , the head waiter kept everything moving without a problem.
The place is elegant to look at...the music was a light and quiet jazz.
We enjoyed our second visit. This time we each had two appetizers...one as and appetizer and the second as "dinner".
Wine by the bottle and by the glass were fairly priced.
