This hotel is situated next to the police station in old Panama. It is very safe! It is quiet, on a corner overlooking the police station and a rather run down old canteen or cafe for the locals, this rather adds to the atmosphere. The rooms, or rather apartments have balconies with orange trees in pots on them, hence the name of the hotel.

The Presidential Palace is just around the corner, this palace overlooks the bay and the view of new Panama is in the distance. We were able to leave the hotel and have our own walked tour of old Pamama. The hotel conveniently provided a very nice walking guide. Old Panama is well policed, though I would avoid the back streets.

The hotel room included a kitchen, with filter coffee provided on a day to day basis, and a large lounge and bedroom. Should you not wish to eat in the hotel or area you could cook a meal in the kitchen using the microwave or stove.

We ate in the hotel restaurant. This is used by locals. Although the menu is limited, what is served is good food. The atmosphere of the restaurant and bar is 1930s. The staff are helpful and plentiful. There is a piano in the restaurant, though when we were there the music was coming over the speaker system. The breakfast is served, there is a reasonable choice.

The staff are friendly and helpful, though on arrival the night porter spoke no English, eventually we managed to find out from him when breakfast was served. There was adequate information in retrospect in the room and a personal welcome letter. Next day we were invited to have a welcome cocktail at the bar. The hotel only has a few rooms. It is quite homely.

Room tip: There are quite a few stairs to climb if you have a room in the upper part of the hotel.

It was very hard to check out of room 1 at this fantastic hotel. The rooms are more than just a place to sleep - the sitting room was a place you could sit and read in all day. Breakfast at the table in the room with the fan overhead made us feel so at home as did the staff. Marvin on the front desk couldn't have been more helpful, he even sorted out stamps for our postcards and posted them for us. Sadly we only spent two days and one night in Panama between Ecuador and Brazil. We'll be back!

Dear Paddy and Nic, thank you so very much for writing such a lovely review of our hotel. While I think all the rooms are beautiful and special, I, too, am partial to #1. We're so glad you enjoyed the stay and felt at home. I really believe that's what sets this little place apart from the rest. And Marvin will be delighted to hear he was helpful to you all. He always gets a real kick out of being mentioned. We are happy to hear you will return! We will be waiting!

Lovely apartments that are carefully stocked with books, fresh linens, and kitchen utensils. Full kitchen and large living room. Our family of 6 had rooms 5 & 6. The hotel was within walking distance to the park, fish market, shops, and restaurants. Wonderful piano music in the evening to accompany a delicious dinner. I especially liked the pork chops with chutney. We also enjoyed Tantalo's Restaurant just 2 blocks away where we watched football and had tasty, reasonably priced food.

We stayed at Las Clementinas for 3 nights and found it an ideal and affordable place to stay in what can be a very expensive city. There is a free shuttle to The Strip and the airport although the one evening we got the cab, it was still only about $20 to get back from Wynn Hotel. The staff were all really helpful and the included breakfast very decent - fruit, cereal, toast, pastries and waffles. The bedroom was clean and a good size with the a well equipped kitchenette. Would definitely stay here again

I am a Spanish person, very well travelled (all over the globe) and decided to try las clementinas for dinner tonight. I went along with my family of four who are also well travelled. The food was excellent, definitely five stars. The presentation of plates was divine and the food all tasted wonderful. My only complaint was with the water. To those of you who may not know, you are usually always given the option for bottled, sparkling or tap. All I am going to say is that if you want tap water and don't want to be charged 6$ a bottle make sure you clarify with the waiter. This will happen to you almost any decent restaurant you go to in the world. To avoid an unexpected charge, make sure you clarify because if you don't you'll end up with 6$ bottles of water.

Other than that, the food was delicious , the staff was very attentive and curteous and it's definitely worth a visit to Casco Antiguo to visit this gem!

Hello tholli and thank you for your time in reviewing our restaurant. We just changed the menu two weeks ago, so we are very happy that you found all the food to your liking, and the service attentive. As to the issue with the water, our waitstaff normally will offer sparkling, still or tap to guests, however, if a guest orders something other than tap there is a charge for the bottled water. I'm very sorry if it was not made clear to you on your visit, and have already spoken to the restaurant manager and staff about the issue. Hopefully, this won't happen again. Thank you for your feedback! Warm regards.
