“Great Staff! Nice Pools!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We enjoyed our two night stay last week at this Radisson property! The front desk staff and restaurant staff are so warm & friendly.....Especially Genia in the Ala Carte Restaurant!!! The room was spacious, super clean & had a very comfortable bed! The pool areas are tranquil with very luxurious padded lounge chairs!

We stood in the hotel as a carnival alternative. It's simply fantastic that being 20 mins away from the city, you fell like being in a separate world. Hotel accomodations are very good. Staff attention is great! Everyone tried their best to help and fullfill our needs. The food was very good and varied.
Additional entertainment (other than pool) like walking trails and butterfly watching also helped... but the one that is really worth mentioning was the golf class (included). Now I see golf channel with a different respect for the sport.
One minor detail is related to the quality of the TV signal and the panel to connect additional devices (hdmi, component video, etc..), because traveling with children these days means carrying some electronic gadgets with you (wii, PS3, etc..), and I had to call in the maintenance guys to take away the TV in order to plug-in the devices, cause the external panel didn't work.

We stayed on a Friday night so probably avoided the busy time when conferences are taking place.
Staff were very helpful and even called our hotel taxi to get us to return after I accidentally left my credit card when we checked out.
The location is fabulous, looking out from the grounds across to the nearby rain forest was amazing.
There is not much close by though, so we ate at the hotel on Friday night, and were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the price of the food we had.
A couple of minor gripes - the main hotel pool was quite cold, and getting a drink from the restaurant bar when not eating was ridicilously slow and inefficient as there was no easy way of paying / adding the cost to your room bill. Otherwise though, we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Lets start positive - a conference for 135 people did run very smoothly. Good conference room with good service. Rooms also large and comfortable. Good sleep in a very comfortable bed. WiFi included - ok speed. Large bathrooms with showers. The water pressure could be better and in mornings the water does not get hot enough. Better in evenings.

But then - food. Go for the buffets. Had dinner the first night and even if we were only 2 in the a la carte restaurant it took 30 minutes to get the food. And it was cold.
The hotel is 13 kms from the city - this means they should have reliable taxi service. They dont. Now the hotel uses a taxistand at Ciudad del Saber 9 kms away. One evening i booked a taxi through the frontdesk for a drive to a meeting 1 hour later, thinking i was well prepared, but when showing up 5 mins before time the front desk told me that the taxi had left earlier with 2 other people..... Also when leaving for airport a note was left in my room "be punctual, your hotel transfer leaves at 11.00" - at 11.15 still no transfer in sight and front desk says "I dont know!" so I booked a taxi instead. So if you stay here - rent a car or get your own number to a taxicompany and use them. Do not use the frontdesk for taxireservations. There is a conciergedesk, but i never saw anyone attending it.

As a quick escape from the city, this hotel is perfect. It has all the comforts of modern style set against the backdrop of raw jungle. It's about 20 min or less outside of Panama City and getting there is no problem since you're on paved road the entire time. You are offered views of the mountains, the pool or the golf course.
The food is consistent and sufficiently varied. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The welcome drink was a nice welcome gesture. The pool is very refreshing and a good size. The rooms are comfortable and bright. Big clean bathrooms with spacious showers.
The thing that makes this hotel a good deal is that it's a modern hotel, has a chic bar in the lobby, it's in a great location, food is good (they do a daily buffet), it has a golf course, and it's affordable.
Whether it's a quick getaway from the city or a vacation, this would be a good choice.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We had a three night stay here January 2013. I sent an email asking to be met off our Miami afternoon flight but had no reply; however on arrival we were met as requested and I'm glad we were as in spite of being a fearless driver I would not have enjoyed making my own way to the hotel through the local traffic and road works. (The hotel will meet individual guests by arrangement and there is a also once a day shuttle service at $23 per person).

We had a "pool view room" as this was all that was available. The impression we got was that the golf course pre-dates the hotel and that the former club house is used as the restaurant and bar, this faces the pool and thus our room over looked this building and the not attractive air conditoners on its' roof. The area by the pool is also used in the evening as an area for eating and dancing by guests attending confrences at the hotel and this makes the rooms facing the pool noisy.

So why the Excellent rating? Because when I went to reception and told them I was unable to sleep due to the noise they arranged for me to have another room on the other side of the hotel and also retain my first room so I didn't have to pack ~ and as it was only 9:00pm I thought this was pretty impressive; and the following day I got an unsolicited reduction on my account and a futher apology. Because the rooms themselves are really very nice European four star plus standard (note; huge shower but no tub) , because the grounds are beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, and this is just a nice place to chill and relax by the pool. I don't play golf but if I did I should think it would be a great place to go and play a round or two.

Just great value and I've no regrets about choosing this hote over one in the city; at these prices stop out of town and have the concierge get you a cab.

Room Tip: Pool rooms face the patio where there could be noise from evening events; the two rooms we had had s...

You see this hotel long before you arrive because it is located on the top of a hill. We've stayed in Radisson Hotels all over the world, and this truly uis a very nice one in a rainforest. The hotel is surrounded by 160 acres of lush rain forest, contains a professional 18-hole golf course and offers free WI-FI.

OUR ROOM was exceptionally large and comfortable. the bed was exceptional. the bathroom was well appopinted and contains a very large shower. Our major complaint was the tile floors--no carpet. This precluded us from doing our daily floor exercises.

THE RESTAURANT has quality food. For vegans the offerings are better for dinner than for breakfast. If you are an omnivore, you will not have a problem.

THE GYMNASIUM is next to the swimming pool; take the stairs to the second flloor. Cardio equipment is emphasized. There are only two treadmills but there was so little competiion that I was able to get a treadmill every time that I wanted one.

THERE IS A LITTLE HIKING TRAIL in the rain forest. It's hilly but relatively short. The butterfly farm has few butterflies.
