“My first trip to Panama”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Nice and very clean hotel. Hotel is located in Isla Perico close to Restaurant, amenities and a big Duty Free store. The ocean view from the balcony of my room was awesome, I couldn't ask for more. Went to Isla Contadora and had a beautiful time too. Hotel is 15 minutes from Old Panama. Take a walking tour in Old Panama City it is very interesting lots of history and beautiful views.

Room Tip: all rooms are ocean view, you would have a pleasant time sitting in your private balcony.

This hotel has a great area in a grea little town. We had a nice view from our room and lots to do in this area. The breakfast was good and the room had a good ac system. There are lots of restaurants and shops in this area. Isla perico is our favorite place in Panama now. If we go back to Panama, I will stay here again.

Nice "high class" hotel in Amador. Nice place to stay if you wanna take a boat tour through canal or do a day trip to Isla Taboga bacause the ferries leave from right in front of the hotel.

Not really a place for the backpackers but nice place if you wanna relax for a bit from all the carrying .

We loved the private balcony with view of the panama canal. The folks at the hotel were great and so helpful. They would get us taxis, tour guide, our laundry done, and breakfast was just right with chef George and his team. The hotel held our large luggage when we went to Taboga Island and stayed at Agua Sol Villa for 3 days (great place to stay also). The staff is a cut above!!! Resturants, everywhere and ATM machine nearby. Local cultural shops and a small market all in walking area of hotel. We enjoyed the small 3-4 ft wading pool that was near the jungle and you could hear the birds, watch the joggers, bikers, and enjoy the beautiful view of panama.

Room Tip: get the ocean view room

I was so in awe of my water view that I decided to remain at the hotel for 4 extra days! I could even see ships lining up to enter the canal way off in the distance, night and day. It was quite easy for me to make myself "at home" along this bit of the Causeway. The seafood at the restaurants was delicious and the waiters always made great meal recommendations in spite of my level of Spanish. It was difficult to get a good salad, however. The hotel staff, especially the evening and night time staff.....Orlando & Isabella(?).....were extremely helpful and friendly. They're part of the reason that I felt so at home. The rooms were kept very clean. The one small complaint that I have, which is an easy fix, is that the sliding door to the balcony is in need of repair and was very difficult for me to open and close. But the view made up for this minor inconvenience. I was in search of relaxation and being surrounded by water on Isla Perico was just the ticket!

We randomly arrived to Panama and almost randomly picked hotel.
It turned out that Amador is very good.
Beautiful located with breathtaking views on Panama Canal and Panama City. Tasty seafood all-round.
It's very close from here to Albrook Airport (Marcos Galabert).

Agree with most of the other reviews and details. We live in Panama and I was looking for a reasonable hotel near the convention center, Figali, to stay after attending a concert. Difficult to find a reasonable rate in or around Panama City. Found the rate of $88.50 total on Booking.com. No problem at the hotel and had a room with the marina view and not the parking lot. Although past the parking lot you can see the skyline of Panama City. Room was spacious and clean. Balcony space was very warm as it is enclosed, but you can stay in the a/c room and watch the action through the sliding glass doors. Pleasant breezes at a couple benches near waters edge across the road from the hotel. Only stayed one night so in the morning took a short walk for breakfast at Mi Ranchito which is served there every day. It's a favorite restaurant of the locals and serves covina (popular fish) many, many different ways for lunch and dinner. We had dinner the night before at Al Dente closer to the convention center. Both had a pasta dish there and it was good, but sometimes pasta is pasta, just different shapes with different sauces. As this was a "busman's holiday" took some pictures that I hope will be helpful to those unfamiliar with the lay of the land on the Amador Causeway. Causeway is a nice place to stay away from the craziness of Panama City. Recently a Hop-on Hop-Off Double Decker Bus route was started in and around Panama City. It travels the causeway so a day pass for the route is $29. Good for doing some sightseeing.
