We passed Gaucho's on our cab ride to the hotel, so decided to try it out. We were seated with a view of the grill master, and I liked the dark, old style interior. The house red wine was good, and hot bread came promptly. The ceviche was lousy, with rubbery, dry seafood in liquid that was way too acidic and tart. Next was the Caeser salad which was without a doubt the worst Caeser I have ever had. Lettuce was not Romaine and was wilted, had brown spots and a stale taste, and I have no idea what the dressing was, something with a strong vinegar taste. We shared our main meal (small eaters) of tenderloin filet, mashed potatoes and baked potato, and the steak truly was excellent, perfectly cooked at medium rare. Baked potato was just OK, but the mashed potatoes were very good, tasted like there may have been sour cream and some mascarpone cheese melded in. Go for the steak, forget the rest.
