“A cool and calming respite from the bustle of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

I checked into the hotel after 10:30, yet Gabriela was waiting to greet me at the front gate, and she knew my name and made me feel welcome frm the moment I arrived. The next day, after a delicious breakfast on the shaded patio, Gabriela gave me directions to the market and restaurants nearby, and had one of the ladies working there go to the nearby bank and exchange some money for me.
My room was spacious and comfortable, and I was able to get internet access on my laptop from my room as well as from the computer they had in the lobby. The linens were spotless as was the bathroom, and my room was tidied up every day.
The patios and lobby were furnished with beautiful pieces of art and furniture, and there were massive potted plants growing everywhere, which lent a real lush and cooling atmosphere to the place.
In short, Hotel Casa Naranja is a small, personable hotel with a big and welcoming heart, and I will most definitely be staying here again when I return.

We stayed here for 3 nights and since we were traveling with our 10 month old baby, the accommodation was a big deal. We got in late and although at night it looks a bit scary, the service was awesome. The crib was already set up and they even waived the check in so we could take the baby straight to the room and order some dinner; we stayed at the suite and it is exactly as advertised. Bed and linens are top quality.
Breakfast is really good and they even prepared special soups for our baby to take with us. They are all very friendly. Location is good, all very safe. They don't serve lunch or dinner but have menus of nearby restaurants.
I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Casa Naranja on our ninth and final night in Nicaragua (started at Los Patios in Granada for two nights and spent six nights at Morgan's Rock).

The property is small. Beautiful. It is located on a quiet street off of a main road. And as much as we loved the setting, it was Gabriela who was the true gem... not only did she greet us at the door, she welcomed us with two glasses of the most refreshing hibiscus tea. She was very engaging and professional... during the check-in process she pulled out a map and directed us to the closest ATM (upon our request) and circled some options for dinner. After a quick trip to the ATM (we had to cross a pretty busy street to get to it... exciting!), we decided to scope out the nearby Peruvian restaurant we had read so much about---and we were disappointed to see it looked closed. When we went back to the hotel we mentioned it to Gabriela and she immediately picked up the phone (without us asking) and she was surprised to learn that they were not open (not common for a Thursday). As we discussed where to go and leaned towards the Nicaraguan restaurant (Cocina de Dona Haydee), she proactively called the restaurant to make sure they were open. The restaurant was a short walk.... good food.... filled with local families (toddlers danced along to a singer who played guitar)... and very inexpensive. An enjoyable second choice.

The grounds are so quaint. We spent the afternoon sitting by the small plunge pool surrounded by the most beautiful trees and flowers... and the next morning we spent our final hours in the shaded courtyard where we lingered over breakfast (OUTSTANDING... many options to choose from.... delicious juice and coffee too) and then read by the fountain.

It truly felt like an oasis... a hidden gem inside what seemed to be a very busy city. Since we were only there 18 hours, I can't speak to what else is around the hotel or its location to other attractions, but it was a perfect for what we needed: a safe and pleasant stop over on our way to the airport (Gabriela arranged for our taxi, $17 USD).

And as if we didn't have a perfect experience as it was, we realized en route to the airport that my husband left his sunglasses in the room. Not wanting to turn around and be late for our flight, we decided to just leave them behind. We sent a note to the hotel yesterday to see if they happened to have found them and to our pleasant surprise---yet it shouldn't have surprised us after our stay---Gabriela was not only able to locate them, but she insisted on shipping them to us for free. Are you even kidding me? Truly, an unprecedented level of service.

Thank you, Gabriela, and to everyone at Hotel Casa Naranja! You made leaving Nicaragua less painful.... and we are so thankful for the outstanding level of service.

We had the hotel to ourselves, it is a lovely sanctuary in a busy city. Taking a dip and sitting in the garden by the pool was wonderful. The staff was completely charming. We highly recommend this hotel. We didn't love the Peruvian restaurant. It was fine but not great. The only thing that bothered us was the rubber/plastic cover in the mattress. Even though it was covered by lovely sheets the lack of breathability still impacts sleep hence the poor rating on the sleep quality

Gabriela was our hostess that evening. She had remembered us from a previous visit a year before. This hotel has a magical feel about it. It represents the beauty of Nicaragua. The staff is excellent . The breakfast was great! I love this hotel. We tried to stay there on our way home but it was booked. Next time :)

A great choice if you like small, comfortable and less formal hotels - Good showers, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds with air con and fans. A really friendly helpful team of staff welcome you with a glass of ice cold hibiscus tea. A good breakfast is included on a really lovely open air terrace. We stayed in Managua briefly on a few different occasions and found this hotel to be ideal for our purposes.

My husband and I spent two nights here going to and coming back from Little Corn Island. The hotel arranged airport pick-ups for us for a very reasonable fee. Both drivers were polite and on time. The hotel is located in a safe and clean neighborhood. The property is well kept and beautifully decorated, and has a calm, soothing energy. Everything was super clean. Bed was very comfortable. Good water pressure in shower. Tasty and well presented breakfast was included. Service was impeccable, front desk ladies were charming and very helpful. We loved and highly recommend this hotel! If you have a chance visit the Peruvian restaurant 3 houses down the street - amazing food!
