Managua Hills - Stayed recently during a 10 day tour. The owners are very courteous and responsive. Both English and Spanish speaking. Lovely outdoor covered patio and/or indoor seating for breakfast. The rooms are clean, air-conditioned and very well cared for. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place at a better price. Also close to the Galleria - which has many restauranats. Taxi service is available and very affordable.... Would recommend negotiating the price before accepting a ride. Would stay here when traveling again.

We stayed this time for over a week and traveled to different places of interest. Young Lau (owner) helped us planned trips to Granada, Masaya, Rivas, Leon, Somoto, Ocotal and Matagalpa! The staff was very friendly and food was delicious! Centrally located yet out in the country feel. We ate avocados, mangos and guavas from the trees on site. Plantains, pineapples and almonds were not ready to eat yet.
Breakfast is included in the rate but if you are interested in eating there (separate fee) it can be arranged with Young (in advance). Everything was delicious but the Chinese and Nicaraguan buffet were my favorite.

Colin & I stayed at Managua Hills for several nights during our stay in Nicaragua, on arrival, part way through and for our last night. Young and his team were fabulous, organising taxis to take us to and from the airport/bus station and on a visit to Volcan Masaya and Granada. The rooms we stayed in were clean with very comfortable big beds, superb quality linen, plus air con and lovely hot water showers - a luxury! Food and beer were in good supply right up until the last morning at 5am, when we were handed a hot pie and orange juice to take with us to the airport. Thanks for that Young if you ever get to see this.
The gardens & pool area of Managua Hills provide an oasis of calm to rest and relax, away from the hustle & bustle of Managua and after long off road bus journeys.

Being a Nicaraguan native, yet raised in good ol' USA, I wanted to stay in a place with total comfort. This B&B is like a bit of paradise in the middle of the city. Every morning I awoke to birds chirping, the breeze blowing from the trees, and Nicaraguan breakfast. My 2 favorite areas were the pool and the hammock. The owner and hotel staff are very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

We stayed in Managua Hills for about 5 days. They have the best hospitality and service. The owner (Young) was very knowledgeable regarding the city of Managua and the surrounding cities, he gave us tips on where to eat ( La Cocina de Dona Haydee is the best) and did everything to make sure we were taken care of. They provided breakfast every morning. We would tell them the night before whether we wanted Cereal or the traditional eggs, platanos and gallo pinto and it would be ready when we woke up. They have hammocks for you to relax in and also a swimming pool. We did not use the swimming pool because the weather was kind of muggy but the hammocks and chair swings were very nice. We were first given a room upstairs and it was very nice and clean, but then they told us later on that day that they would switch us to a downstairs room that was bigger and easier access, which was great because my mom has trouble climbing stairs. The room they gave us was much bigger and it had a bigger bathroom with tons of closet space to put our stuff, so they were very accommodating. I would definitely suggest this hotel for anyone staying in the Managua area, it is centrally located to the rest of the country and the atmosphere of the hotel is very warm and inviting and it was very reasonably priced.
