“Good price, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

The hotel is very well located in the very centre of the city, close to Dnipro River. Rooms, at least mine, are rather oldish - soviet style - but quite bearable. Free wifi, very good breakfasts with live music. All of it for a very good price - makes you forget shabby but clean bathroom. I would definitely recommend it for any kind of travellers, unless luxury is their cup of tea

Well it's a big hotel with very different rooms. So if you'll happen to stay in economy class rooms as I was - it's not so nice and pretty worn out. The corridor reminds an old soviet students house, no tea or coffee sets, no fridge in economy class rooms. My room had normal windows, as my colleague was staying in "windy" room, which had old and leaky windows.
As per hotel - I should mention very rich breakfast and live piano during it and central location as well.
The hotel staff was nice and friendly, spoke fluently English, they even arranged breakfast packages for our group, as we were leaving early in the morning. Hotel-airport transfer was well organized. The wi-fi connection in hotel was good, but note that you need a different password for each device!
By the way - if you want to change currency (at least in the hotel, I didn't try somewhere else) it takes like 5 minutes at least and you must have your passport as they're making a copy!

I staid 5 nights in this hotel i must tell this could be the worst Hotel in Kiev, lets start with room quality
1- Economy room is labeled " one star" not even your pet would not want to stay there
2-Standard room, somewhat acceptable though $ 135 a night was very very expensive
3- The resorption girls was very rude" particularly one them, stiff, no basic customer service,
4-Very soviet ears type of service.
5- 5th floor is not renovated, squeaky very old hard wood.
6- Location is good
7- Brunch is good
NEVER AGAIN TO THIS HOTEL..NOT EVEN FOR 5 BUCKS A NIGHT

Room Tip: Never want to stay again in this hotel

There was 4 of us sisters traveling together and used the suite with a king and queen size bed plus a couch. There was a divider between the beds to make them almost a separate room. They customer service was excellent.

They call the style of such buildings "Stalin Empire", and the centre of Kiev is almost exclusively built in this heavy, pompous style (after the destruction of the WW2). The rooms are less impressive than the outside and the lobby - not bad, but certainly not a four star standard. Clean, small but comfortable bed. Small bathroom - it takes some time and gymnastics to slip into the shower cabin.
Reliable wi-fi only in the lobby and the cafe on the ground floor.

Rich and varied buffet breakfast (with live piano music!).

The greatest asset: perfect location in the very centre of Kiev.

Room Tip: There are four categories of rooms. Don't go for anything below "standard". Ask for...

I stayed for 3 nights in the hotel, in single room. the room is very basic with single bed and min amenities.

the front desk team speak good English, but they are not friendly when talking and give you a face.

the breakfast is poor quality with min selections, also i asked for omlet and i got a lot of questions why i need one made for me and not to take from pre made.

the location is very good in main street and 5min to metro station, but price is high vs the service you get.

also AC and heater not working, and you can hear the noise of people walking outside the room.

This hotel is well situated, downtown Kiev, but that's about the only thing working for it. I stayed here in two rooms in a span of one week. First room was single occupancy room, very much soviet style room. It was clean, but run down, and tiny. Second room, was a double occupancy room, which was renovated. Nicer amenities. The internet was horrible both times. I either could not connect at all, because the signal as really poor, or I kept loosing it. The staff wasn't the most curious staff I've encountered either. So all in all, I might stay here again, but I wouldn't seek it out.
