It was a very pleasant stay there. Central position, new building, excellent sound isolation, very efficient staff. The only problem: elevators didn't work well with our keys and I even had to recharge my key again, because it went demagnetized.

This hotel is the most expensive in Kiev and as such should perfection in all categories. Alas the staff need to be reminded about their high room prices. I paid $600 for a king with club access and the room was first class. The balcony looked out over historic Kiev and the room amenities were superb.Main criticism would be the location of the small flat screen TV placed on the wall so that you can watch while in bed...............really inconvenient except for the fact that there are so few channels to watch that it did not really matter. For 2 nights out of 3 I did not get the turn-down service and towel change etc. Even after calling one night the maid did not come and I had to leave the room for 30 minutes while she did the required and even then forgot to change the towels. Unacceptable that the front desk did not follow-up to make sure it was all correct. As a Ambassador member I was not given the level of guest follow-up that I normally receive. The concierge desk was too busy checking their Facebook page a few times when I was waiting for service. On one occasion I asked the guy how long it would take to get a taxi to a specific destination and he said he "did not know" and did not bother to immediately find out.............he should have been fired! After a few conversations with the front desk manager they sent me a half bottle of cheap Chilean wine and some more fruit. the best part about the hotel is the club lounge as it is non-smoking and served great breakfast and excellent happy hour "dinner". Would I stay again...............yes because of the brand loyalty and next time they will get it right.

Room Tip: Get a club level room

The hotel is very well situated. You can reach by foot the principal churches such as Sophia or can reach shopping area.
The hotel rooms are spacious and very clean. You have shower and banoir, too in the bath. The mini bar is quite simple, but free...heating is good, and what's more: you have a nice and useful iPhone dock! There's a table with a comfortable chair and a nice sofa. Lifts are moderns, but the only inconvenience is if you live in the 5th floor you cannot stop to an other floor.. It can be very complicated you have to visit somebody else. The restaurant is perfect, very nice wines coming from the south and also the breakfast is wonderful. They serve good tee, and also strong, Italian style coffee. Receptionists are very well trained and nice people. Lobby and bar on the first floor is very correct. If you can afford the quite pricy stay, just do it, you won't be dissapointed at all.

Best hotel in Kyiv where I have stayed so far. Clean, quiet with superb service. Not much to describe since everything was as excellent as it could be. Location is very convenient, but it looks like there will be some road construction around it until mid 2013, so there might be some traffic coming in/leaving.

Room Tip: May be you want to have a room facing backyard - they seem quieter

I just spent 10 nights in this hotel, with 2 colleagues. A lovely hotel in historic building, in excellent location next to squares where two major gold-domed churches are located. This is a great area for walking around, and there is a large park just behind the hotel (and behind the Mikhailski cathedral) with lovely walking trails, etc. Rooms are extremely comfortable, good-sized, with nice touches such as a mini-bar (water, juice, soft drinks and beer only, but free for the taking, replenished daily), electric kettle and tea/coffee makings. Beds are VERY comfortable with lovely sheets/comforters and pillows. VERY quiet for sleeping. Bathrooms are large and modern with great showers and separate bathtubs. Maid service is quiet and very efficient (and friendly). TVs are nice, but surprisingly there was no CNN, only BBC News. Wifi was free and fast and worked all over the hotel. The lobby bar and especially the outside patio area is a nice place for a drink and a bite, but the coffee/drinks prices are outrageous ($10+ for a fruit juice or bottled water or cappuccino), whereas the basic foods (club sandwich, salads) at approx. $20 are expensive but not outrageous, and are very good (as is all the food in the hotel). The gym (in the basement) has good equipment (2 treadmills, a stepper, a bike, and weights sets), but is quite small for such a large hotel. It was a bit crowded when a few people were there at once, and there are not many machines. There is an adjacent indoor pool in a heated room, which looked nice. I was a bit surprised not to have any special benefit of being a Priority Club gold (actually became Platinum during my stay) here. My 2 colleagues had fruit plates in their rooms on arrival (despite their having no Priority Club or Ambassador status), whereas I had nothing. When I asked the front desk about this late in my stay, they said I could have a newspaper if I wanted (USA Today only, no Herald Tribune unfortunately), which I then got on my door for 2 of my last 3 days. No fruit plate. The hotel’s breakfast is a highlight, with perhaps the best breakfast buffet (included in room rate) I have ever seen. Abundant fresh fruit, oatmeals and cereals, all kinds of breads and pastries, tiny quiches, Ukrainian blini and pancakes, Asian offerings, a hot area with eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled vegetables, steaks, etc. All delicious. The breakfast chefs are friendly and efficient, always replenishing the abundant offerings, and eager to make whatever you special order (and deliver it to your table). I have to mention an extreme example of great customer service we experienced in the (wonderful 5-star Olivera restaurant – the same place where breakfast buffet is located – which also has truly excellent cuisine for dinner), when we admired the olive oil bottles on the tables. A lovely woman working in the restaurant (Masha) told us they are sold in a shop in the mall not far from the hotel, and offered to stop by there the next day when she was off duty and buy us some, if they had any in stock. She then called us the next day to tell us she had found us two bottles (the last ones!) after looking in not one but two shops (!!), and said we could pick them up that evening from her, which we did. (A very special thank you to Masha, who really went out of her way, on her free time, to do something very nice for us! That is REALLY customer service. THANK YOU MASHA!!). I look forward to staying in this hotel again soon. Expensive, but a great place to stay in Kiev!!

Location is great. The size of our room was ok and looked to a side street, which made it silent, so we could sleep long. The Lobby Bar is wonderful, everything what we ate there was fresh and delicious. Spa receptionist very helpful and the therapists good. The concierge Katyerina was amazing. I had a lot of non-touristic questions and she was always helpful. Trust her when you look for good suggestions. The breakfast was interesting. On one side they offer quite a good selection of food, from tropical fruits to Asian corner, so I don't understand those comments with the food variety problems. On the other side the quality of the food, is not always top, most of the pastry seems deep-frozen kind and the sushi rice was dry, hopefully not from the day before. Laundry service was prompt, two shirts were ironed, one very well, the other not that much (however the only place this one is always perfectly ironed is the Hong Kong Intercontinental.) All in all we had a nice stay. I would try out other hotels in the city, but would also stay here again happily.

Room Tip: Ask for a side room if you want to sleep well, front room for a better view, but there you will hear...
