“Awful hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

For the money I paid ( 249 euro for a Friday / Saturday night stay ) this place was awful. I booked an atrium view room and was given a room on the 4th floor. I immediately noticed a loud howling noise from the air conditioner units located in the centre of the atrium. I can assume the noise was even worse on the lower floors. I went to reception and asked to change rooms.
When I mentioned the noise, the receptionist said "ah yes the air conditioners" before I had time to say what the problem was. He said he would try to change my room, and ten minutes later he phoned to say he had a standard single room for me. I was pleased, however when I was shown to the room, it was one of the smallest rooms I have ever seen. I have added a picture, the laptop is a 13"macbook, for perspective. Was this room worth 125euro per night? Not in my view.
A single bed, a tiny desk and no door between the bed area and the room entrance meant I heard all the noise of the corridor. This claims to be a 4* hotel and yet they didn't even supply a pen or a bottle of complimentary water in the room. In addition, the internet was very slow and breakfast was a crowded, noisy affair, full of tour groups was my impression.
I cannot understand why this hotel, in this relatively uninteresting city, feels it can charge such an amount for such poor service. The location is good, being close to all city "attractions" and that is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel.

Great hotel in the heart of the city. Rooms clean and comfortable if a little on small side but adequate. Breakfast good with a large selection and the cafe on the terrace is wonderful.. Good place to meet and have a coffee and famous Moscow cake. Sit outside on Terrace and try their ice cream or just have a drink and watch Belgrade society.

This historic hotel has been elegantly renovated. High ceilings, lots of wood trim, nice-sized room. We were on the 3rd floor in a quiet room but on a busy street. There is a formal restaurant and a cafe with inside and outside seating. Several English language TV stations including the Cartoon Network, TLC, Discovery, CNN and BBC. Free wi-fi, 110v outlet in spacious bathroom, 2 sizes of pillows to choose from. Breakfast buffet was substantial, lots of choices.

The hotel is conveniently located to many area attractions, easy walks. There was some construction at the entrance, but that did not cause any problems. Hotel staff was helpful and courteous. Two computers available near the front desk. Seating areas in the reception area for quiet conversations. Hubby and I were there as part of a tour group, so I cannot comment on cost as it was included.

Right in the heart of the city, a few minutes away from the Knez Mihailova Street. They can also arrange a pick-up from the airport to the hotel, and friendly hotel drivers tell you the history of Belgrade free of charge. I stayed in the first floor, viewing the park and the Sava River. Very nice breakfast, lovely cafe and friendly staff at the reception. I stayed 4 nights and enjoyed Belgrade Marathon ending right in front of the hotel. There was a construction going on in the basement and I am sure it is already completed and opened to service. Try to book a massage in the Spa downstairs. After walking all day, it is really relaxing. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when I come to Belgrade.

We stayed here for a few nights very recently. At the time, the hotel was undergoing a little work to its main entrance, but this did not disturb us at all. On arrival the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The porter who took us up to our room was particularly helpful - he took time to answer all of questions about what food to try and what sights were best to see. He also marked various recommendations on our map for us, which I thought was really nice of him.
The room was a bit small (we just had a standard double) but it was adequate for our needs, and had a TV, minibar and air conditioning, and the bed was comfortable.
Unfortunately there happened to be a dead fly on the floor of the bathroom at the time we checked in, but this was cleaned up promptly, and the bins were also cleaned each day and the bed made each day.
The hotel had free wifi, but also had computers to use for internet, which was really useful. The interior of the hotel was really smart, and the pavement cafe was really popular - not surprising, given how delicious all of the cakes looked!
The breakfast that was included was delicious with a variety of choices, and even on the morning that we came down towards the end of the breakfast time, some items were still being replenished so you could still have a good choice of breakfast (sweet / savoury, hot / cold etc)
The location of the hotel is great for exploring the city, seeing the sights, eating, shopping etc, and as a bit of landmark the hotel is also signposted and so easy to find from different areas of the city. It is also convenient for the railway station as it is not far up the hill from there.
If you were looking for a hotel in Belgrade for this sort of budget, I would definitely recommend the Moskva :)

Great hotel at the perfect location.. The staff is extremely helpful. You can walk to all historical sites and restaurants.. Breakfast is included in the room price. Try to book a double room even if you are traveling alone as I heard (just heard) that the single rooms are very small. (isn't it always, anyways?)

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

My significant other and I spent six days/five nights at Hotel Moskva in mid April. We were very impressed by the kind, hard working hotel staff, the absolutely beautiful and clean 2-floor bedroom, the delicious food and drinks, and the prime location in the heart of Belgrade.. When we picked Hotel Moskva, we knew the hotel was more expensive than most in the area. However, it delivered and exceeded our expectations. There were evenings when we rather stay at our hotel than go out to find dinner or a cafe to read (and we usually love to explore when we travel).

We had the superior duplex room. The living room, bedroom and bathrooms were very clean. The bed was very comfy; it was hard waking up in the morning! We had large windows with a balcony overlooking the main street. It was not noisy (like other reviewers had said). The hotel breakfast was rather delicious (opened until 1030 am, thank goodness, since we are late risers), with choices of fried/scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, cold cuts, cabbage salad, three types of cereal, crepes/pancakes, several baked treats, good tea choices and delicious coffee.

The best part of the hotel was the cafe/bakery. There was also great outside cafe seating. It was so nice to sit outside, be served tasty drinks and desserts, and read a book/newspaper or talk with friends. We also ate dinner there and it was delicious. The food prices (restaurant/bakery) were very reasonable. The outside seating would be full of hotel guests and locals.

A cab from the airport cost 1800 dinars. The hotel arranged a car to the airport when we left, and it cost 20 Euros.

It was so easy to walk from the hotel to anywhere we wanted to go.

The only things I wish the hotel had were 1) a gym/fitness center and 2) able to mail out post cards (it was the only hotel I ever countered abroad that did not offer this service).

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Belgrade for work or relaxation. Although the hotel stay is more expensive per day than other near by hotels, it is worth it.
