“paradise in Belgrade”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

This was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The staff was kind and helpful and spoke perfect English, and the rooms and the hotel in general were clean and beautiful. We had breakfast on the outdoor patio, and it was just lovely. I was in Belgrade for business, but the hotel was also an easy walk to what I think were the main restaurant and bar areas. My colleagues and I left the hotel extremely impressed.

This is the most professional hotel in Belgrade. Very nice and helpful staff that speak English. Extremely clean rooms with turn down service. The room sizes are good with big enough bathrooms. Suites are spacious and comfortable.
Spa and gym are good. The pool is indoor with a Japanese style jacuzzi.
The restaurant is superb.

After almost three weeks of traveling through the Balkans and staying in some pretty nasty places that were the best in the various towns coming to Square Nine was heaven. It is very well located in the old town and a very short walk from the main pedestrian street and many of the major sights. The hotel itself is what we would regard as a high end boutique hotel that had only been built in the last year or so. It is modern, clean and attractive with good size rooms and wonderful bathrooms with Hermes amenities and luxurious thick towels. There is tons of wardrobe drawer and desk space in high quality furnishings. Everything from lights to blinds and drapes is controlled by bedside remotes. Even the lighting is perfect which is most unusual in hotels. Everything is kept immaculate all the time and the staff are courteous, efficient and friendly and really contributed to our overall enjoyment. Breakfast is in a large and airy dining room and was excellent and I suspect that I've added a pound or two thanks to the delicious pastry basket. I cannot recommned this hotel highly enough and consider it one of the best values anywhere.

Overall the hotel is very, very nice! Amazing design, very tasty restaurant (whether for breakfast and for a midnight snack/lunch/dinner), prime location, staff is speaking good English and happy to help you with anything. Spacious bathroom, everything is clean and tasteful.
The only issue I had was: next to the reading lights at your bed you see the sign "don't move the lamps!" There is a reason for that! Reason #1 - the lamps don't actually move, reason #2 - if you're working in your bed, like I do, you want the lamps to be directed at your papers/laptop, but you can't (because they don't move, obviously). It would not be too bad - after all, there is a desk in the room with a lamp than could be pointed wherever you want, so I relocated with my laptop to the desk. But guess what - there is only 1 power socket at the desk, so you can either use the lamp, or charge your laptop, not two things at the same time. So for working in the hotel room this is just not suited well.
But if you don't plan to work from your room - this is the ideal stay.

My wife and me spent beautiful 24 hours in Square Nine.We were checking out this place ever since it started working and decided to spend our anniversary there.

From the moment we walked in we were, again, impressed with thoughtful and clever design of the reception, lobby and restaurant. Staff was impecable.

We were in Junior suite on fifth floor, facing the newly renovated Student Park. Large, spacious, sleek and roomy with greatest bathroom I encountered in a hotel. Hermes soaps, cozy linen, fresh towels added even more luxury feel to our stay.

Experience in spa area was great, mostly because we were using it on our own for the whole time. Great atmosphere even the spa was on -2 level of the hotel.

Overall experience was something out of Belgrade standards. I would highly recommend it both for short business stay and for few tourist nights in epicenter of Belgrade,

Room Tip: Choose room on upper floor, facing the park for more light and beautiful sunrise.

I can hardly fault this hotel. The room I had was modern with a huge bathroom.

Restaurant was first class, it was a pity to see it so empty but I guess it's too pricey for many of the locals. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced compared to Western Europe.

You cannot get a better location and the staff were friendly.

Only two small things:

Would have liked a security peep hole on the room door.
The swimming pool was a bit too cold.

Would definitely stay again!!

Room Tip: I had room 509 and couldn't fault it.
