“Short Stay Review”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Stayed 2 nights. Nice room with minor flaws in upkeep, otherwise better than most others in the same price range. A plus was getting a room with a balcony. Nice bathroom, nice towels and amenities, hair dryer, and great water pressure. The kettle in the room was nice to have, supplied with coffee, teas and sugar, but lacked any creamer to use. Bed was clean and average or slightly above average in comfort. Breakfast was well presented and omelet to order was a plus. Desk and breakfast personnel were friendly and helpful. Location was fine and within walking distance to some areas of note. Minibar was nice (did not use), but an empty fridge to use would have been nicer. TV was nice but welcome book indicated a channel line-up card that was not present. Balcony was nice to have but eyesore on the maintenance. People above would throw their cigarettes out their open window (still burning) down to our balcony which had torn artificial grass on the deck (possible fire hazard). Overall pleased and would recommend to anyone looking for nice place at a good price.

I had so delightfull time in ROMANIA because of TEMPO Staff. All the staff were so kind and polite.
Especially the housekeeping ladies and the girl at the breakfast room. 5-10 or 15 minutes to any city attractions. I felt like home. I suggest this cozy 3stars hotel to all viewers. No regret!

Room Tip: clean, friendly

We stayed for a week here and was welcomed by polite and friendly staff who can speak English. Our twin room has a balcony, rather spacious on upper floor with city view. The flat TV, having satellite channels, is very Clear, and the room was kept rather clean daily by helpful maid.
The breakfast was OK, always refilled, with varieties of cheese, ham, various salad ingredients, bread rolls, juice,... The egg Omelette with cheese and ham, and coffee can be prepared for us on request and done at once. We would just like to point out that the lift is a bit small, suitable for 2 persons with 3 baggages, as well as the Bath wall is a bit high but adequate size.
As we are on Business and have sufficient sleep, together with good breakfast, we felt very energetic every day during the 1-week stay. In our spare time, we visited many sightseeing points, like Palace of Parliament, National Museum of Romanian History, Village Museum,... as well as shopping near Victorie square,... We enjoyed Romanian and other cuisines , with drinks in the Old town, which is about 15 minutes ' walk from the hotel.
The means of transport, like bus, metro, train and Trams are convenient, and we arrived by airport bus no. 783 and got off at stop close to University. The reception staff, restaurant staff, and , cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and would like to stay here again, as it is valued for money.

Room Tip: Upper floor ---- better view and quieter

Tempo is conveniently located close to the historical centre and to some good restaurants. It's not difficult to locate, situated on a central street (10-15 minutes walk from Universitate metro station), there's a small grocery store that works 24/7 right behind the hotel.

The hotel is a clean and well equipped (wi-fi, kettle), although the mini-bar is quite expensive (2 euros for a small coke). Breakfast which is included was varied and tasty (omelette, meats and cheeses, fruits, veggies, pastry, cereals, etc).

Exceptionally good value! Would definitely return!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Situated in a relatively quiet (apart from the occasional tram!) residential area, 10-15 minutes walk from the historic centre, the Tempo ticks the boxes for those requiring a comfortable base for a city break at a reasonable price. Decent size, warm and well-equipped rooms have mini-bar, kettle and cable TV with access to a multitude of channels. Breakfasts include cereals, fruits, cold meats, cakes, a range of breads and omlettes if required, provided by a cheerful and efficient service, typical of the staff in general. The immediate area of the hotel lacks cafes or restaurants.

Although not having the reputation of other East European locations, the city provides an intriguing mix of buildings of varying ages and styles, and is worthy of a couple of days of wandering around, following routes identified on tourist maps. Lipscani is developing as an area for bars and entertainment. The impressive beer and dining emporium, Caru cu bere on Street Stavropoleos, is well worth a visit with a wide range of good value meals and regular evening traditional dancing.
