Lovely new hostel right on the edge of the Old Town, I would definitely recommend staying here, it's certainly one of the best we have stayed in in Europe! Though it may be a little more expensive than other hostels, you do get what you pay for. We were in a double room which was large, light, very comfortable and felt very fresh and clean. It was nicely decorated, the bed was large and comfortable, and we had a great view over the river with two big windows. There was also a little table with seats which was a nice place to take a rest from exploring the city in the late afternoons. Each double rooms comes with a large flat-screen TV too. The bathroom was lovely and modern, and toiletries like shampoo, soaps etc. were also included which is unusual for a hostel. The building itself is quite lovely, with a spiral staircase and old-charm renovated in a modern way. There is also a comfortable lounge upstairs with a balcony, and a small kitchen and dining room on the ground floor where breakfast is served. Breakfast is good for a hostel - breads, corn flakes, jams and other spreads, plus meats and cheeses, and tea and coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly - they arranged an airport transfer for us before we arrived into Bucharest and were very fast to respond over email. When our plans changed and we needed to stay an extra night in Bucharest they were able to book us into another double room that was free without any trouble. This room was slightly smaller and darker than the other one, but it was also cheaper, and was just as nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff were very happy to sit and have a chat and treated you like good friends - even offering us some home-made Palinka and Capsunata (plum and peach alcohol) one night which was great fun. They also provided us with an excellent restaurant recommendation, and suggested a great wine and traditional dessert (Papanasi) which we 'had' to try - and they were right, it was delicious!
The hostel is a very short walk to the Old Town and numerous bars, restaurants and tourist sites. The only slight negative was that it was a little noisy at night when trying to sleep. We were there during the quiet season and there weren't too many guests staying, but even still you could hear every word / movement people made outside the rooms in the hallways etc. But this is generally to be expected from a hostel.
