We thought the location couldn't be beat, and in the 3 days we traversed OTP, I didn't see a hotel where I would have rather stayed. Wireless internet was super expensive though, but that's often the case at EU Hiltons... :( You can buy hourly wireless just to check in at the Radisson across the street, but the Hilton doesn't offer it.

The staff was very helpful, and they have a Clef D'Or concierge on staff which was very helpful to see! Rooms are huge, but be sure the AC works! We had problems with ours several times, and unfortunately you can't open the windows. :(

We started a recent trip around south eastern Europe in Bucharest. While the city itself had been plucked of many of its French-inspired architecture, the Hilton does have a hint of its pre-war past. The hotel itself is very central and within walking distance of pretty much everything (I think we rode the metro once or twice) especially the museums right across the street. While normally I'm not a big fan of large parking lots in the middle of the urban center, the square that the hotel is on is basically that and it does allow for some open views to the buildings all around.

We had been upgraded to an Executive Room with access to the lounge which was very nice (top floor with the lounge offering the better views). It was a little pricey for Eastern Europe, but the room was clean and comfortable and in a very good location for dining (cute neighborhood to the side of the hotel with lots of open air cafes), sightseeing and the like.

We stayed here only for one night and although we probably would not choose to visit Bucharest again we enjoyed the hotel. We had a lovely big room and although the furniture is a bit older all is there what you need and it is well maintained. Nice touch was the Nespresso machine in the room so we could make good coffee and tea. In the evening some little bites were placed in our room; nice touch! We had lounge access and that was nice too..in the evening we had drinks there and some horse d'oeuvres. Shops and restaurants are nearby. Roomservice is very good
enjoyed a nice pasta dish and ceasars salad in the room..

This is one of the best hotels in Eastern Europe and one of the best in the Hilton chain. I have stayed there 16 times and never disappointed. A short ride from the airport and in the center of the city. The basic room is small but comfortable. Upgrades are frequently given.
The service is excellent. The breakfast buffet is exceptional and the dining very good. Less expensive restaurants with traditional Romania menus are within walking distance and offer an opportunity to meet residents of Bucharest.

My husband and I booked a Valentine's weekend away in Bucharest and were excited when we came across the Hilton January Sale which included this hotel. Even though Bucharest itself is pretty cheap, upscale hotels were rather pricey. So we were happy to get a good deal at a branded hotel where we knew what we would be getting.

I had read about how the hotel was a historic building and really nicely done and I would agree with that. It's got a really good location and central to seeing the sites, but also overlooks a clean square (well it's kinda a parking lot now, but still).

Usually we stay at Starwoods, but there is not a Starwood in Bucharest and I hadn't stayed in a Hilton for a while, but I knew it would at least be up to a certain standard. While it was, I was definitely a bit disappointed. The room was fine, but nothing impressive, just a boring, business room. The TV was small and not a flat-screen and the bathroom was just a typcial bathroom. With Starwoods you usually get a bit more design, even with a business-style Sheraton.

The staff was very curtious and helpful, especially the concierge. We wanted to go out to Dracula's castle and he arranged everything for us. There is also a rental car place in the hotel so we checked out those rates but we had a private tour with a driver and a guide for about 200€ Definitely not cheap but it was a 12-hour tour and it would have been almost that much for us to drive ourselves. The tour was excellent and booked through Jolly Tours which is part of the hotel. Lucia was our guide and she was just fantastic. So knowledgeable and energetic.

The breakfast was good, lots of choices and everything was fairly fresh. Breakfast was included in our stay which really makes a difference as you're full for most of the day.

Overall our stay was very pleasant and the building itself was nice, but I wasn't overly impressed with the room and I feel like we do get better service and extras at Starwoods since we're Starwood preferred guests (although we are Hilton members too). I hate to base my experience off of this one stay, but I think I'd choose to stay at a Starwood versus a Hilton. We always get a room upgrade and in general the rooms just make you feel like you're 'away' a bit more and aren't so cookie-cutter. But I should not disregard the time we had and that it was a solid 4-star hotel experience.
