Description: An oasis of peace and green in the middle of the city, with friendly waiters and a good vibe. Romanian wines by the glass, natural home made drinks and vegetarian/vegan friendly food. Great for long lazy afternoons or laid-back evenings out on the terrace with friends, while for brunch it makes a brilliant (and bargain) alternative to the big, expensive hotels. A must see for the first visit to Bucharest.

“Nice menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

The menu is quite lovely and the place is nice and cozy. No wonder it's hard to find a table, during summer. A good hang out place for advertisers.

“Books and So Much More!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Carturesti book store is a special place and one visit will never be enough. It's located in a fabulously restored mansion full of hidden nooks and crannies including the original kitchen where you'll find products related to the palette. The top floor has a good selection of English books including the latest bestsellers along with travel guides and much more. Once you're done perusing the massive selection of offerings (including an impressive array of tea pots, cups and brew selections) you can have a casual meal on their very attractive back patio which offers a wide variety of seating options and is a great place to scribble in your journal while sipping one of their many beverage options. Family friendly and one of the best places to wile away the hours on a lazy Saturday, Carturesti is a don't miss.

“Excellent for enjoying a nice sunny day outside, drinking tea or with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I like this place as you can enjoy a nice sunny day out, in front of a tea, reading a book, with friends or playing boardgames.

Good food. Service can be late if crouded but again you go there to enjoy time. The inside tea rooms is excellent as well during cold periods.

What i like about it as well is that once in you feel like you shut the door to Bucharest traffic.

“Very bad service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The location of this garden is wonderful, but the service is terrible and it really spoiled my experience here. I went to enjoy a drink with some friends in the open air but instead of relaxing I got frustrated by the attitude of the waiter. He was prompt enough in taking our order, but we waited about 20 min to get our drinks, then we ordered another round. After 15 minutes we have not yet received them and we reminded the waiter - he had forgotten. It took another 10-15 min to bring them. We had ordered 2 Coca Cola so it's not like the bartender took the time to prepare our drinks.
Add another 20 minutes to get the check and another 20 to get the change after you pay... It's like that show - boiling point!
I would not recommend this place unless you are real calm and don't mind waiting - a lot!

“Excellent Tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

I had the Chai Tea which is a blend of spices and it was too good. In India we boil everything and add the milk then boil again.
This is tea made to perfection & hot , honey served as the sweetener and milk if you want it. Perfect ! Nice room and great location, good english speakers what more can you ask ?
